Jeffree Star has offered his take on the recent Hailey vs Selena drama…
And people have praised him for his honesty!
“I hope this is a boost for Selena!” wrote one fan.
Jeffree has built an empire.
But believe it or not, Jeffree comes from rather humble beginnings.
His father sadly committed suicide when Jeffree was just 6-years-old, and he was solely raised by his mom.
And the young Jeffree became a prominent figure on the social media platform MySpace, which propelled his career in both the beauty and music industry.
Jeffree is also well-known for his androgynous appearance.
In the past he’s told Out Magazine: “So I don’t really call myself anything. I am a guy, I don’t want to have a sex-change – you know, my mom blessed me – so, I’m going to stay a man and look like a girl and everyone’s gonna f*ckin’ like it!”
You may also know Jeffree because of his distinctive tattoos.
His body is inked with Sharon Tate, Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley, Princess Diana, Wednesday Addams, and many more.
And as for his music career, well, Jeffree has even had a song with Nicki Minaj.
The song was called “Lollipop Luxury” and fans loved it…
He released his first and only studio album Beauty Killer in 2009, which peaked at number 7 on the US Billboard Top Electronic Albums chart.
But it wasn’t meant to be as, after a couple of promotional world tours, his name in the industry quickly disappeared.
But then came the comeback.
Alongside his very popular (and often controversial) YouTube channel that boasts 17.2 million subscribers, the beauty mogul has made quite the name for himself in the beauty community.
And no matter how big the brand… if he isn’t impressed, he isn’t afraid to call them out.
He once felt that Kylie Jenner’s $400 makeup brush collection wasn’t worth the money and after making a brutal video explaining why Kylie was quick to take him off the PR list. Ouch.
Oh, and, of course, Kim Kardashian.
Who called Jeffree’s product packaging, “unoriginal”.
He also had a highly publicized argument with tattoo artist Kat Von D that caused a lot of drama.
The former best friends fell out, bad.
They each posted sour videos on their YouTube channels aimed directly at each other and rumors were flying all over the place about their beauty brands.
Yikes.
But he has also had his fair share of controversies over the years.
With re-surfaced footage of the YouTuber using racial slurs causing a lot of offense.
He has since apologized, though many don’t think it’s good enough.
This even led to beauty giant Morphe dropping Jeffree Star Cosmetics.
Star has been part of a lot of major YouTube dramas.
Remember the huge story between him, Tati Westbrook, and James Charles?
Tati detailed the termination of her friendship with James Charles in a groundbreaking video.
It was all over claims that he manipulated people’s sexuality and used “fame, money and power to play with people’s emotions.”
Jeffree called him “a danger to society.”
Claiming that he won’t be welcome at his house.
“There’s a reason why I haven’t seen him since @GlamLifeGuru’s (Tati’s) birthday in February,” he wrote.
“He is a danger to society. Everything Tati said is 100% true.”
But regardless of the people he offended, he continues to be as popular as ever.
And that includes his personal life.
He had a very public relationship with his ex, Nate.
And Nate became a huge part of not only Jeffree’s personal life but also his online life which was displayed to his fans.
He had been dating skateboarder Nathan Schwandt since 2015.
Not only is Schwandt a famous skateboarder, he also runs a m**ijuana business with Jeffree. Or he did anyway.
They even shared a Calabasas mansion together and several Pomeranian dogs…
But back in 2019, Jeffree announced that he and Nate had separated after 5 years together.
Taking to YouTube on January 11, Jeffree revealed all of the details to his loyal fan-base and seemed genuinely heartbroken. He explained:
“There’s no easy way to say this but we did break up.
“I’ve used a lot of this time of silence to just try to heal.
“We’re both in a state of shock. I’m devastated, I’m so sad. And the love of my life is no longer– I don’t wake up to him anymore.”
“He’s no longer here every morning and my routines have changed and I’m just in a state of shock right now.
“We both are. This isn’t an internet fight. This isn’t drama, this isn’t tea, this is my real life and me and my soulmate are really going through it.
“Me and Nathan will be friends forever, I will always have love for him.
“Are we in love with each other? No. But we love each other and he will always be in my life.”
Then things got weird.
Remember those viral TikTok rumors that he was dating Kanye West?
“My friend is a big lawyer in L.A and met with Kim months ago…
“And was told all of this given evidence. I want to drop receipts but I can’t,” the now-deleted TikTok claimed.
Jeffree then fueled the fire.
He even Tweeted about Kanye’s infamous Sunday Services.
He also shared an image of himself in reflective sunglasses.
Which led many sleuths to zoom in and try to see if they could spot Kanye.
Star then shut the rumors down …
Though not without adding fuel to a different fire.
“I’m definitely NOT sleeping with Kanye.
“But the amount of rappers in my DM’s is wilddddd b*tch,” he tweeted back in 2021.
Jeffree has also dated basketball player, Andre Marhold.
Although that relationship was also incredibly drama-filled!
Andre’s alleged ex-girlfriend took to Twitter to bash the couple.
Jeffree also claimed that the couple had been victims of homophobic abuse online.
But, it didn’t take the YouTuber long to move on!
And when he uploaded this steamy pic to Twitter, it confirmed fans’ suspicions.
He simply captioned it, “Goodbye LA, time to spend time with my #NFL boo in Wyoming.”
But thanks to the internet detectives out there, people are already guessing who this mystery man is!
“The spot [on his hand] is a mark from an IV, so he’s likely a starter. It’s on his right hand.
“That plus the legs being crossed to the left, I’d guess he’s left handed. The leg hair is very light. He’s probably blonde/ginger,” one detective wrote.
Here’s the tweet which started it all.
But then, Jeffree upped the ante by offering some extra clues.
But now, Star is in the headlines for a different reason.
He’s offered his unique take on the recent Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez drama.
ICYMI, people think Hailey Bieber has been hating on Selena Gomez online.
Including copying her poses and bringing in BFF Kylie Jenner to support her.
But Star used his TikTok review of Hailey’s beauty brand Rhode to offer his perspective on the controversy.
Star says: “Okay, so the packaging is so boring. And then I open it up and – girl – she literally looks like she wants to die.
“Like focus. Oh my god, that face is like, ‘Why did I do this? Why did I create a skincare brand.’
“So when you’re privileged and you use daddy’s money and you’ve never worked a day in your life, I guess this is what we’re doing.”
“In this house we are team Selena and we are team not bullying anyone,” he continues.
“So we’re going to skip today’s review – oh wait, she doesn’t even deserve a pink trash can – and just like Shawn Mendes said, ‘Bye’.”
He then throws the package into the trash!
