Actor Jerry Douglas has died aged eighty-eight years old.

The news of Jerry Douglas’ passing was confirmed to TMZ.

He is said to have died earlier this week.

With an incredibly successful acting career, Douglas was best known for his role as John Abbott, in The Young and The Restless.

For twenty-five years, Douglas played the role of Abbot who presided over the Abbott Mansion and Jabot Cosmetics. Though it came to an end when his character was killed off from the show in 2006.

Douglas also had roles in many other successful shows including Cold Case, Arrested Development, and Mission: Impossible.

He is survived by his wife, Kym Douglas, sons, Jod and Hunter, and daughter, Avra.
