Jessie J has revealed that she has tragically miscarried her baby.
The singer took to Instagram ahead of her show in LA to share the news with fans.
And it’s truly devastating…
Jessie J has become a household name over the years.
Born in London, she made a dramatic impact with her music.
Jessie originally hopped onto the scene with her explosive track, “Do It Like A Dude.”
Despite it going against the traditional safe bet that most artists go for as a debut single, the song was a hit and it kicked off her mainstream career.
After that, she went on to achieve true greatness as a pop artist.
Back in 2011, her single, ‘Price Tag’, was an international hit, topping the charts in a whopping nineteen different countries.
But it was in 2014 when she made the ultimate breakthrough…
In a track titled ‘Bang Bang’, Jessie J collaborated with Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande to form the ultimate collaboration… And fans loved it.
And before she got famous, Jessie J was known for being a producer and a songwriter, her immense talent for words and rhythm gave her the foundation to build on a career in the mainstream.
In recent years, her name has appeared in the credits of many songs including ‘Party in the USA’, one of Miley Cyrus’ biggest hits, as well as featuring on many other tracks.
It’s safe to say that Jessie J has had quite the successful career…
But if you need any more evidence than that, then just know Jessie has also got a whopping twenty-two awards under her belt including a Brit award and multiple MOBOs.
But, it’s not just her music that people love her for…
She has a cute, genuine persona which has endeared her to many fans around the world.
Throughout her career, Jessie has remained a private person…
Opting to keep her relationships and her private life, private.
But, now she has opened up about something extremely personal.
Jessie has revealed that she has tragically suffered a miscarriage.
Despite keeping her pregnancy quiet, Jessie took to Instagram to share the devastating news.
Sharing a picture of her holding a pregnancy test, Jessie told her followers that there was no longer a heartbeat during her third scan.
“Yesterday morning I was laughing with a friend saying ‘seriously though how am I going to get through my gig in LA tomorrow night without telling the whole audience I am pregnant,'” she wrote.
“By yesterday afternoon I was dreading the thought of getting through the gig without breaking down…”
Jessie, who decided to have a baby on her own, explained that despite her tragic loss she determined to play her show in LA because she knows “singing tonight will help me.”
“I have done 2 shows in 2 years and my soul needs it,” she wrote. “Even more today. I know some people will be thinking she should just cancel it. But in this moment I have clarity on one thing. I started singing when I was young for joy, to fill my soul and self love therapy, that hasn’t ever changed and I have to process this my way.”
“I want to be honest and true and not hide what I’m feeling. I deserve that. I want to be as myself as I can be in this moment. Not just for the audience but for myself and my little baby that did its best. “
“I know myself and I know I would talk about it on stage because that’s who I am. So instead of a tearful emotional speech trying to explain my energy. This feels safer. “
She went on to explain that she decided to have a baby on her own because it is “all I’ve ever wanted and life is short.”
“To get pregnant was a miracle in itself and an experience I will never forget and I know I will have again.”
At the end of her writing Jessie explained that the “sadness is overwhelming,” but despite that, she is “strong, and I know I will be ok.”
She also opened up about her connection with the “millions of women all over the world” that have “felt this pain and way worse.”
Sending you love, Jessie!
