J-Lo gave a passionate performance at Joe Biden's inauguration ceremony today, but some people could only focus on one thing...
Joe Biden has been officially sworn in as the President of the United States.
And even though it was the main part of the event, some people have shifted their focus to some of the performers...
And of course, J-Lo was among those.
Though it seems everyone was distracted by one thing... Her ring.
Keep scrolling to find out why.
Let's have a quick recap of the events that have unfolded before we got to this historic day.
Since his election victory on November 7th, our country has experienced political tensions like never before.
Most people argue that Biden's win was a fair one...
After 4 long days of vote counting - and plenty of recounting - the Democrat was projected as the forty-sixth President of the United States.
Following his victory, Biden Tweeted this:
America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I p… https://t.co/iUORklENs0— Joe Biden (@Joe Biden)1604767962.0
"America, I'm honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me."
Democrats all over the country were quick to rejoice...
For them, after 4 long years under the Trump-Pence administration, there was finally light at the end of the tunnel.
Former POTUS and a long-time friend of Biden, Barack Obama, also shared his happiness over the result.
Congratulations to my friend, President @JoeBiden! This is your time. https://t.co/LXzxGnBAfz— Barack Obama (@Barack Obama)1611153913.0
"Congratulations to my friend, President @JoeBiden! This is your time."
However, people on the other side of the political spectrum didn't accept the result so readily.
Donald Trump instantly attacked Biden's win with several unproven accusations of electoral fraud - and, of course, his loyal supporters added fuel to the flames with gusto.
Trump did everything in his power to fight the election result...
And became one of the few president's in history to refuse to concede to his successor.
As the weeks trickled by, political tensions across the country grew...
And, on January 6th, enraged pro-Trumpers took matters into their own hands.
After repeated instructions by Trump to "fight for the White House," hundreds of his supporters stormed the U.S Capitol...

During which a joint session of Congress had convened to formally count the Electoral College votes and certify Joe Biden's election win.
Things quickly became violent...
And the world watched on in horror as the building was overtaken and vandalized by the rioters.
It was clear to see that the police were completely overwhelmed...
And disgracefully underprepared.
So, in the run-up to today's inauguration ceremony...
Extra measures were taken to ensure the events of January 6th would not be repeating themselves.
Now, as we all know, Trump didn't attend the ceremony.
He confirmed his absence in a tweet earlier this month before being banned indefinitely from Twitter.
Instead, he left Washington D.C on Air Force One this morning.
And fled for the Mar-A-Lago resort in Florida.
Trump has become the first president in more than a century to not attend his successor's inauguration.
Only 3 presidents have have done the same, with the last, Andrew Johnson, coming in 1869.
But, before he boarded the flight, he made his final speech as president.
Trump was greeted with cheers as he took to the stage, telling supporters that he loves them "from the bottom of his heart" adding that "we've accomplished so much together."
He then went on to thank his family and staff for their efforts:
"People have no idea how hard this family have worked. They could've had an easier life, but they did it for you."
He then broached the topic of the ongoing pandemic.
"As bad as the pandemic was, we were hit so hard, places that thought they got away with it didn't get away with it. We achieved a medical miracle – the vaccine – which we developed in 9 months instead of 9 years."
"I will always fight for you. I will be watching. I will be listening, and I will tell you that the future of this country has never been better.
"I wish the new administration good luck and great success, they have the foundation to do something really spectacular. We put them in a really great position."
Trump concluded his final words by saying he would be back...
Appearing to hint that he will try to run again in 2024 – though this will, of course, depend on the outcome of his second impeachment.
And now, in the hours following Trump's departure, his successor has been sworn in.
