Joe Biden's dog Major has been honored in the first-ever "Indoguration" and the pictures are adorable.

Although, there was an even bigger cause at the heart of the event...

Now, Joe Biden's inauguration is just 2 days away...

And for many, this is a moment that can't come quick enough.

But theres one inauguration thats already happened.

Getty

And that's for his dog Major.

Now, Biden has endured a long and tedious battle for his place in the White House...

Getty

In 1987, he first decided to run for president but, after suffering from severe headaches during the campaign, he dropped out the following year. Doctors later discovered that he had 2 life-threatening brain aneurysms.

And, 2 decades after his initial presidential bid...

Biden decided to run for president once again. However, despite his experience in the Senate, his campaign failed to gain momentum.

Last year marked his third run for president...

And saw him go head to head with the notorious President Donald Trump.

It was one hell of a run-up to the election.

Getty

Of course, the election couldn't have fallen on a worse year, but it powered ahead despite some major setbacks - including Trump's coronavirus diagnosis.

And the votes didn't lie!

Getty

After a tense few days of counting (and recounting) votes, it was confirmed that Joe Biden's third run for president had been successful - everyone, meet the forty-sixth president of the United States.

This was a historic win...

Not only because Biden broke Barack Obama's record for the most votes cast for a presidential candidate, but also because vice president-elect, Kamala Harris, will be the first-ever woman of color to be elected in office. Simply amazing.

Of course, President Donald Trump didn't take to this news well, at all...

Getty

And after continuously claiming the entire election was "a fix" and that he was the actual winner, Trump recently declared that he won't be attending Biden's inauguration - something that didn't come as a surprise to many.

Trump is also facing impeachment following his behavior over the riots held at the U.S Capitol building...

Getty

So we can only imagine how much of a rub in the face Biden's success is for the disgraced president.

Biden, on the other hand, accepted his win graciously...

And the president-elect, along with his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, has been celebrating along with the rest of the country.

Biden will be inaugurated into office on Wednesday, January 20th...

Which is mere days away from now.

Democrats all across the country are eager for the special moment...

Getty

Because it's bound to be a historical moment - and that's not just because Trump has refused to attend!

And as for his inauguration theme?

Well, it's America United, of course!

"At a time of unprecedented crisis and deep divisions, America United reflects the beginning of a new national journey that restores the soul of America, brings the country together, and creates a path to a brighter future," a statement from the transition team read.

In addition to the theme, 2 Inauguration Day events have also been announced...

In his first act as president, Biden will lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery.

He will be joined by first lady Jill Biden, Kamala Harris, and her husband, Doug Emhoff...

As well as Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.

Former first ladies Michelle Obama and Laura Bush...

As well as Hillary Clinton, will also participate.

The inaugural committee also plans to install an art display on the National Mall.

The "Field of Flags" will include 191,500 American flags, representing the Americans who sadly can't be at the celebration.

"This inauguration marks a new chapter for the American people — one of healing, of unifying, of coming together, of an America united. It is time to turn the page on this era of division."

"The inaugural activities will reflect our shared values and serve as a reminder that we are stronger together than we are apart, just as our motto 'e pluribus unum' reminds us — out of many, one," Biden inauguration CEO Tony Allen said.

Of course, the ceremony will be majorly scaled-down at the U.S Capitol...

Because of both the continuing coronavirus pandemic and, as of recently, the Capitol riot held by far-right Trump-supporters.

There has been one inauguration to take place already though.

Well, it's more of an "Indoguration."

Joe Biden's dog Major has been honored in an "Indoguration" hosted by Delaware Humane Association and Pumpkin Pet Insurance.

It was a virtual charity event that raised over $100,000 for the DHA, the shelter the Bidens adopted Major from in 2018.

The event was hosted by NBC Today Show's Jill Martin who explained that Major couldn't attend the Indoguration as "he and Champ are hard at work in preparation for their big move this week."

The event even gave participants the chance to nominate their animals for a position in Major's cabinet.

Singer Josh Groban closed the show with a performance of Patti Page's 1952 hit "(How Much Is) That Doggie In The Window?"

Rewriting the lyrics to say "I'm adopting that doggie in the window."

Offering his congratulations, Groban said, "Many animals have been in the White House but Major Biden will be the first rescue dog in the White House, which is why we're here."

He also added, "In this crazy, insane, divided world, we need animals to bring us together."

US Today reports that Stephanie Shain, chief operating officer for regional sheltering organization Humane Rescue Alliance, said, ""Why not a rescue? Why not a shelter?"

"There remains a lot of misconceptions about animals in shelters still today and the biggest hurdle animals in shelters face is getting people in front of them."

The ceremony also included a video of the day Biden officially adopted Major from the shelter and videos of animals at DHA waiting to find a forever home.
