His dogs have also been dominating the headlines, of course!

Biden's dogs, Champ and Major, have captured hearts all around the world.

And now, they've finally moved into the White House with their dad.

Now, Biden has endured a long and tedious battle for his place in the White House...

In 1987, he first decided to run for president but, after suffering from severe headaches during the campaign, he dropped out the following year. Doctors later discovered that he had 2 life-threatening brain aneurysms.

And, 2 decades after his initial presidential bid...

Biden decided to run for president once again. However, despite his experience in the Senate, his campaign failed to gain momentum.

Last year marked his third run for president...

And saw him go head to head with the notorious Donald Trump.

It was one hell of a run-up to the election and the fight was well and truly on between the 2 candidates.

Well, in the end, the votes didn't lie!

After a tense few days of counting (and recounting) votes, it was confirmed that Joe Biden's third run for president had been successful - everyone, meet the forty-sixth president of the United States.

This was a historic win...

Not only because Biden broke Barack Obama's record for the most votes cast for a presidential candidate, but also because vice president-elect, Kamala Harris, will be the first-ever woman of color to be elected in office. Simply amazing.

Of course, Donald Trump didn't take to this news well, at all...

And after continuously claiming the entire election was "a fix" and that he was the actual winner, Trump didn't end up attending Biden's inauguration - something that hasn't happened in more than a century.

Trump is also facing impeachment following his behavior over the riots held at the U.S Capitol building...

So we can only imagine how much of a rub in the face Biden's success is for the former president.

Nevertheless, Biden's inauguration went ahead smoothly without Trump's attendance...

And the world watched on as Biden was declared as the forty-sixth president of the United States.

But believe it or not...

President Biden wasn't the only one who got an inauguration!

One of Joe Biden's dogs - 2-year-old Major - was honored in an "Indoguration" hosted by Delaware Humane Association and Pumpkin Pet Insurance.

It was a virtual charity event that raised over $100,000 for the DHA, the shelter the Bidens adopted Major from in 2018.

The event was hosted by NBC Today Show's Jill Martin who explained that Major couldn't attend the Indoguration as "he and Champ are hard at work in preparation for their big move this week."

The event even gave participants the chance to nominate their animals for a position in Major's cabinet.

Singer Josh Groban closed the show with a performance of Patti Page's 1952 hit "(How Much Is) That Doggie In The Window?"

Rewriting the lyrics to say "I'm adopting that doggie in the window."

Offering his congratulations, Groban said, "Many animals have been in the White House but Major Biden will be the first rescue dog in the White House, which is why we're here."

He also added, "In this crazy, insane, divided world, we need animals to bring us together."

US Today reportedย that Stephanie Shain, the chief operating officer for the regional sheltering organization Humane Rescue Alliance, said, "Why not a rescue? Why not a shelter?"

"There remains a lot of misconceptions about animals in shelters still today and the biggest hurdle animals in shelters face is getting people in front of them."

The ceremony also included a video of the day Biden officially adopted Major from the shelter and videos of animals at DHA waiting to find a forever home...

Which was very cute, we must say.

And now, almost a week on from President Biden's inauguration...

Major, including his older brother, twelve-year-old Champ, have finally moved into their new home - the White House.

Yesterday, some adorable snaps courtesy of the White House and Biden's photographer, Adam Schultz, were posted online of the dogs frolicking on their new (and very big) lawn...

And the return of these 4-legged friends is a step back to tradition due to Trump being the only president in a century to not have pets in the White House.

The first lady's press secretary said to TMZ:

"Champ is enjoying his new dog bed by the fireplace and Major loved running around on the South Lawn."

Way too cute!

We're sure Champ and Major will be very happy in their new home for the next 4 years!
