Now, pharmaceutical organizations from all around the world have been working tirelessly to discover a vaccine for months…
But, to begin with, they didn’t have much luck.
American multinational pharmaceutical corporation, Pfizer and German biotechnology company, BioNTech have been working on a coronavirus vaccine for the last few months, and now, it’s finally ready.
Which has enrolled 44,000 people in the U.S and in 5 other countries.
Well, they were looking that good that some countries have started distributing the COVID vaccine out to their citizens a few weeks ago.
And countries such as the United Kingdom have wasted absolutely no time in administering the vaccine.
There are many people who still don’t trust the vaccine.
And, when it was reported that some recipients had experienced an allergic reaction to the vaccine, the conspiracy theories began flooding in.
With the words “zombies,” “infertility,” and “microchips” cropping up way too often.
A whole host of politicians have vowed to have the vaccine administered live on TV.
A number of the top names in congress and the White House have promised to receive the vaccine in front of an audience in an attempt to debunk any fears.
In an attempt to bolster trust and confidence in the shots among Americans.
Vice President Mike Pence.
Along with his wife, Karen, and U.S. surgeon general Jerome Adams, he was inoculated with the first dose of the 2-shot vaccine at 8 a.m. in the Eisenhower Executive Office building in Washington, DC last week.
Where over eight-thousand people tuned in to watch.
“I didn’t feel a thing,” Pence said once the injection had been administered, adding that the vaccine was “safe and effective.”
The president-elect and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on Monday.
Biden received the COVID-19 vaccine on live TV at a hospital in Newark, Delaware, saying he was doing it to show there is “nothing to worry about” and that Americans should get vaccinated once it’s more readily available.
Referring to them as “heroes,” he told them “we owe you big, we really do.”
“Wear a mask, socially distance, and if you don’t have to travel, don’t travel,” Biden said, talking about the upcoming Christmas holidays. “It’s really important because we’re still in the thick of this.”
The president has both praised himself for the vaccine’s speedy development and spread factually incorrect conspiracy theories claiming the FDA delayed its approval so he’d lose the election.
But his right-hand man Mike Pence did say this: “From early on, President Trump gave the White House coronavirus task force one mission and that was to save lives. And in the midst of one of the most challenging years in the life of this nation, I truly do believe that despite the heartbreak and hardship that we have endured as a nation that we have done just that.”
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see…
