Though he initially started as a stand-up comedian, Rogan found his fame from becoming an MMA interviewer and commentator and went on to win the World MMA Awards' Personality of the Year, 6 times.

But most of you will be more familiar with his podcast series...

The Joe Rogan Experience.  Launched in 2009, The Joe Rogan Experience is an online audio and video podcast that interviews a vast array of different celebrities and political figures. The JRE has since grown to become one of the world's most successful podcasts, with it receiving millions of listeners and viewers for every episode.

Rogan's podcasts touch upon an array of topics...

And reel in a variety of different guests, ranging from actors, musicians, political figures, sportsmen, authors, and beyond. Rogan does, however, tend to avoid the more traditional interviewing methods, and instead opts for more lengthy, yet casual and relaxed conversations.

And his podcasts never fail to get people talking.

We all remember that Elon Musk interview... Come on. You know the one. When, mid-interview, Elon casually lit a joint and puffed away on it like there was no tomorrow? Ring any bells?

Aside from smoking pot with his guests...

Rogan has been known to dabble in a little politics from time to time. From business tycoons to presidential candidates, you can guarantee that Joe's has had them on his show. Earlier this year, Rogan became a top-trending Twitter topic after Democratic presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders appeared on his podcast.

Rogan was widely praised for the interview.

Despite the overall shock of Sanders' presence on the podcast, many people were quick to praise the commentator for hosting such a pragmatic and informative discussion with the candidate.

Rogan is a man who believes in free speech...

And it is shown in his podcasts. His lack of confrontation and overall, interested attitude suggests that he could potentially make an excellent interviewer and host more political debates and interviews in the future.

He has given us some classic interviews over the years...

His episode with boxing legend Mike Tyson is easily one of his highlights.

And, unsurprisingly for such a podcasting icon ...

Rogan has been revealed by Forbes to be the highest-earning podcaster of the past year.

Forbes's Tom Webster praised Rogan...

"[He is] delivering scale and engagement. He's the no. 1 in terms of reach in the U.S."

So, what's the figure?

Forbes estimate he's earned $30 million in the past year alone - with MFM earning around $15m, and Dave Ramsey around $10m.

We know, it's a shocking figure.

But hey - we guess he must be a talented individual to have this sort of pull!

Fans were quick to congratulate Rogan on this huge achievement...

But it seems that things have taken a sour turn in the last few days.

A video has resurfaced on Twitter from a 2011 podcast featuring Rogan and his best friend, Joey "CoCo" Diaz.

Diaz is a well-known comedian here in the States, and he is heard on the podcast making jokes about coercing women into having oral sex with him.

Diaz spoke about when he used to work at a comedy venue called The Belly Room...

And Rogan couldn't contain his laughter when Diaz explained how he would only allow female comedians onto the stage if they would perform sexual acts on him.

What Diaz then says is sicking...

"You think I'm f****** kidding? Yeah, you've got to suck my d*** to get up to The Belly Room. I'll make a call for you, that's the f****** gateway into coming into Hollywood, everyone knows that!"

Rogan asks him how many girls "he had do that"...

To which Diaz replies with, "Oh, about twenty. I had this little blonde open-mic chick... she was tremendous. But she finally freaked out. When she got to Hollywood, she was beautiful and when she left she had dirty f****** nails." Rogan is hysterically laughing as Diaz says this, by the way.

Diaz said she eventually wrote him a letter saying he "broke" her...

Which made Rogan laugh and clap even more.

The person who shared the video to Twitter went on to explain the problem our country has with sexual assault...

And how cities such as Los Angeles are "full of creeps and pedophiles."

People were left feeling furious over Rogan's response to Diaz's disgusting comments...

And many feel that this just goes to show what power can do to people - it can make them lose their humanity.

The fact that these men were laughing over a woman being forced into sexual acts is appalling...

And it truly goes to show that they believe they have so much more power, just because they're men.

People are demanding for Rogan to be canceled...

And they are asking why this disgusting behavior hasn't been talked about before.

But many of Rogan's fans are sticking up for him...

And they feel that people are simply being "too sensitive" for being offended by a joke made 9 years ago.

But regardless of what people think, joking about sexual assault is never going to be funny...

And the victims of this awful crime do not deserve to be laughed at. Rogan is yet to comment on the podcast, so make sure to stay posted for further updates.
