Justin Bieber is one of the most recognizable names and faces in the world. Forget the music industry. Whether you love or loathe the Bieber, he is a true icon, certainly of the past decade.
However, just because he’s been dominating headlines since I was about twelve years old, that doesn’t mean he isn’t entitled to his privacy.
And now Bieber has set the record straight (again) – after confronting fans who were waiting for him outside his New York City apartment.
In a video TikTok user @VanessaFex posted on Friday, June 25, the singer can be seen walking from a car to his apartment building.
There he finds a crowd of fans waiting for him outside the entrance. When he reaches the group, he turns to a fan who asks him for a hug and politely explains why he doesn’t want them to wait outside his place.
Pretty understandable right.
In the video, Bieber can be heard saying:
“I hear you, I hear you. But this is my home. You know what I mean? This is where I live. And I don’t appreciate you guys being here. You know when you come home at the end of the night, and you want to relax? This is my space to do that. So I would appreciate it if you guys could leave.”
And this isn’t the first time Bieber has called out fans waiting outside his home.
Back in October 2020, Bieber said:
“How do you convince yourself it’s not completely inappropriate and disrespectful to wait outside my home to gawk, stare and take pictures as I walk into my apartment. This is not a a hotel. It’s my home.”
Bieber has often expressed how he can be uncomfortable with some fan behaviour.
Such as back in December 2020, when he took to his Instagram Story to talk about how a fan, who wanted him to get back together with his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, targeted his wife Hailey Bieber on social media.
Back then he wrote:
“This sad excuse of a human just encouraged people on video to literally go after my wife telling people to say that my previous relationship was better so on and so forth. I just wanted to share this so that people get an idea of what we face on a day-to-day. It is extremely hard to choose to take the high road when I see people like this try and rally to gather people to bully the person I love the most in this world.”
No matter who you are in this world of ours, you have your idols and heroes. Whether they’re pop stars, astronauts, football players, or artists. We all have someone we look up to. But we have to respect their privacy. At the very least. They’re human too. And we cannot forget that.
So yeah, don’t go standing outside Bieber’s home again.
