Justin Bieber Finally Reveals New Face Tattoo

Let’s be honest, the idea that the Never Say Never boy would some day be sporting long summer locks and a body full of tattoos has never occurred to anyone. But here we are. And here he is.

I’m sure die-hard Justin Bieber fans have already come to terms with his new look, though. After all, Justin loves everything art-related: singing, songwriting, playing drums and guitar, acting and dancing. He has also repeatedly shared his love for body art on Instagram, and is known to ink symbols of the people he loves onto his body. He still had a tattoo of Selena Gomez in July, even though he was already engaged to Hailey Baldwin. Because just like feelings, tattoos are difficult to let go of.

Now, apparently, Justin and Hailey are tied together not only by marriage, but matching tattoos as well. These tattoos were inked in November and kept secret ever since. Until now.

The new tattoo is finally revealed.

For two months Justin kept the new face tattoo secret, and only on New Year Day did he decide to make it public. Celebrity tattoo artist JonBoy shared the photo above on Instagram, on 1 January, 2019. The new tattoo “grace” is just above Justin’s right eyebrow.

Justin has done a really good job keeping it secret.

He’s known for always wearing some kind of hat or beanie over his hair, with bangs sticking out from under it.

Plus, the new tattoo is tiny.

It’s so small and so close to the eyebrow that it’s hard to tell where the eyebrow ends and tattoo begins. To see it, you’d have to stand really close to Justin which is quite unlikely, considering how big his security guys are.

He also never talked about the tattoo himself.

Never has he shared a close-up of the tattoo on Instagram or mentioned it on social media. Not even by accident.

There are two possible meanings behind his new tattoo.

One, Justin is a devoted Christian, which is why it wouldn’t be too wild a guess that “grace” is yet another tribute to his devotion, says nine.

But it’s just as likely to be a tribute to his new wife Hailey Baldwin.

According to Mirror, Justin, 24, and Hailey, 21, got married in September and, two months later, got matching couples’ tattoos to celebrate it. If you’re wondering what “grace” has to do with Hailey, Unilad has a great explanation for you: “She’ll likely be the only one ever close enough to actually read it!”

But Hailey is a devoted Christian too.

Style Caster says they even belong to the same Hillsong Church in Los Angeles. Hailey has “pray” tattooed on her hands and a cross on her neck. Justin has several tattoos dedicated to his faith, but the most impressive one has to be the giant cross right in the middle of his chest.

It’s not yet known, though, what Hailey’s matching tattoo is.

Neither the design nor the place of the tattoo has been revealed. However, a recent post on JonBoy’s Instagram account has featured Justin, Hailey, and the caption “Style&Grace.”

This might mean that Hailey’s secret tattoo is “style”.

Which would make sense. Her being a model and all. Considering that Justin’s tattoo was revealed two months after it was inked, and with the purpose to mark the couple’s first New Year’s together, it’s not entirely incorrect to guess that Hailey’s tattoo will be revealed on the next important occasion for the couple that’s also in about two months. Valentine’s Day?

There’s also confusion about who gave the two their first matching tattoos.

It was JonBoy who posted the photo of Justin on Instagram on the New Year’s Day, ending 2018 with a personal note: “2018 was a lot of work for me. Both in tattooing and inner work I thought I would never have to face. So many times wanting to give up asking God to take me home.”

He then turned to his clients and friends.

“But then I’m reminded what my purpose in this world is through people like you who get tattooed by me and share your life of struggles, anxieties, lost love ones, memories and victories through these little tattoos that have some of the biggest meaning behind them.”

He finished off with a sincere thank you.

“Thank you. Thank you to my clients who have become some of my best friends. I love you all! God’s grace is sufficient in our weakness and it is by Gods love we here for 2019!”

However, it was another celebrity tattoo artist who was the first one to talk about Justin and Hailey’s matching tattoos.

Bang Bang, real name Keith McCurdy, told Page Six back in November: “They each got a tattoo. Justin’s tattoo is on his face, and I haven’t seen any photos of it — so he’s doing a good job of laying low.” “It’s really thin and delicate. And [it’s] also not a traditional couples’ tattoo . . . I don’t want to give away what it is until press gets a hold of it.”

JonBoy and Bang Bang are two of Justin’s favorite tattoo artists, who helped cover his upper body and parts of his legs with art.

Naturally, when his fans saw that tattoos are now creeping in and onto Justin’s face too, they got worried that he’s going to turn into Post Malone.

In April, 2018, he posted on Instagram a photo of his torso, completely covered in ink, top to bottom.

It’s hard to believe that it’s the same sixteen-year old boy whose most successful single once was Baby. As of now, Justin has over 60 tattoos and counting, reports nine.

He said on Instagram that, together, all of his tattoos took 100 hours to complete.

One of his earliest tattoos was the words “Son of God” written across his chest, just under the rib cage. Most of them also have a religious purpose.

“Grace” is actually not his first face tattoo.

JonBoy told E!, back in 2016, that he had tattooed a tiny little cross in the corner of Justin’s eye earlier that year. “It was a representation of his faith in Jesus and his journey with finding purpose in God.”

Even though most of his tattoos are there to honor God, he has plenty of other impressive ones with non-religious messages.

Several of his tattoos are dedicated to his mother, father and grandfather, as a thank you for all the hard work they did raising him.

The crown (top left side of his chest).

He got a crown tattoo in 2012, most likely to honor his idol Michael Jackson, who had passed away in 2009, says Capital FM.

The American eagle.

With its wings spread wide, right under “Son of God”, the eagle on Justin’s chest is likely meant to express gratitude for the success he found in America where he has moved from Canada.

The lion (left side of his chest).

Another one in honor of his idol Ed Sheeran. Now both of them have lion heads tattooed on their chests.

The two angels fighting evil (on each side of the torso).

As Capital FM has reported, “Bang Bang […] revealed the meaning behind the two celestial figures, “We added two angels, one on each side. Below each one, they’re dominating the evil. Whenever I do an epic piece, there needs to be the positive and negative.  There needs to be a balance […] Below each of the angels, there is a demon that needs to be defeated. The skeleton on one side and the serpent on the other.” “It’s symbolic of Gothic art and the struggle between the light and dark, the good and the evil, Yin and Yang.”

The treble clef (behind the left ear).

This classic symbol of love for music means just that: Justin’s passion for singing and songwriting.

The chi (left arm).

It could be, as Capital FM speculates, another expression of Justin’s religious side. However, it could also be the Chinese symbol, a popular tattoo choice, meaning that there’s energy flowing throughout everything within and outside of us.

Finally, the compass (back of the left arm).

This one is my favorite so far since, to Justin, it has a motivational meaning: keep your eyes on the prize.

Hailey is not far behind Justin with her body art, though.

With over 19 tattoos already, she says she’s “running out of spots to put little ones,” reports nine. “Eventually, when I have kids one day, I want to get my kids’ names.”

But what do the fans think of Justin’s new tattoo?

As with the photo of Justin’s tattoo-covered torso, fans have had mixed reactions to “grace”.

Some of them love it.

“Instagram users called the tattoo ‘beautiful’ and a ‘perfect’ tribute to his new bride,” says Mirror. It must have been especially appreciated by the fans named Grace.

Others not so much.

“Pls don’t tattoo on his angelic face!!! I know it has a beautiful meaning but still…. Not on his face anymore!!!” “Please tell me that’s not Justin Bieber. Please tell me he didn’t get a face tattoo,” quotes Evening Standard.

But JBiebs doesn’t listen to the naysayers.

He loves body art and he loves tattoos. “If tattooed [sic throughout] didn’t hurt everyone would have them. Well maybe not very one!!Over a hundred hours of art work on my body and I wouldn’t take back a single one.. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ART AND IVE MAde my body a canvas and it’s SO MUCH FUN.”
