Throughout the last couple of years, the "Karen" meme has grown to become an internet sensation.

But, just to clarify, what exactly is a "Karen"?

Well, the ever-so-accurate Urban Dictionary describes a Karen as a "mother of three. Blonde. Owns a Volvo. Annoying as hell. Wears acrylics 24/7. Currently at your workplace speaking to your manager."

To put it simply, the name "Karen" has become associated with a certain type of middle-aged white woman who’s likely to throw a fit if she doesn’t get her own way.

It really is the most stereotypical meme out there.

So many women have now been identified as a Karen...

And it has become a painfully hilarious joke over the last few years.

Things have truly gotten out of hand with the Karen meme...

But we aren't complaining!

And thanks to the internet...

We can now spot a Karen asking for the manager from a mile away.

And this week, one Karen has gained viral attention for the most hilarious of reasons.

A Reddit user took to the platform to share his experience with a rather entitled Karen who had mistaken him for a member of staff in the store in which they were both shopping in.

The Reddit user shared his tale under the "r/IDontWorkHereLady" subreddit...

Which, according to its description, “involves stories about folks that go into other businesses and have irate customers mistake them for employees."

The woman, who the user nicknamed "douchebagette", was getting impatient and angry with the pace another customer was taking...

And, upon spotting him standing behind her, she evidently mistook him for a member of staff and instantly "galumphed over."

He then detailed the exchange that took place.

The Karen instantly, and rather rudely, demanded that he help her to find the eyelash curlers in the store. But, rather than cooperate or tell her that he wasn't a member of staff, he decided to have some fun.

And then came the golden line.

"Would you prefer that I speak to your manager?" A classic Karen move.

He then decided to reply with a rather sarcastic quip.

"No I didn't. You asked me which I'd prefer. If I was offered a rectal exam or a slap in the face I don't want either but I'd prefer the second to the first. See how it works?" She went on to ask for his manager again, in which he replied that his manager is probably at home with his family.

Queue: Colossal Karen melt-down.

The woman had grown steadily more infuriated with the man's responses, and she actually stamped her foot out of rage, you know, just like a toddler would.

Her anger attracted the attention of an actual member of staff...

And, as a real manager approached, the realization began to dawn upon her.

It was here that the Karen finally asked if he worked there.

And, when she completely blew up about her blunder and demanded an explanation as to why he didn't tell her, the man simply replied: "You didn't ask me. Until now."

Here, the manager intervened.

The store's manager first warned the Karen to stop swearing and then asked the man what was happening, to which he explained the full, hideous interaction. However, while he was talking, Karen was getting more and more riled up.

And, when Karen failed to calm down, the manager decided to call for security.

And, as the man walked away, he could hear her continue to shout and rage, even as the security ordered her to leave.

On his way out, he hoped that she would spot him...

But, sadly, she didn't. However, the man still found the whole thing to be hilarious, and he enjoyed sharing his tale with the Reddit community, which has now gained over 600 comments from amused users.
