Now, on March 7th, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's highly-anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey aired on CBS...

And viewers watched on in shock as some mind-blowing allegations were made against the British monarchy.

For example...

It was claimed that senior members of the family had refused to get Meghan professional help when she was experiencing suicidal thoughts during her pregnancy with Archie.

She also addressed the ongoing issues of racism within the monarchy.

Meghan claimed an unnamed senior member of the Royal family raised "concerns" about how dark Archie's skin would be before his birth.

"In those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time, so we have in tandem the conversation of, 'you won't be given security, not gonna be given a title' and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he's born."

But Meghan wasn't the only one to spill the royal tea.

Prince Harry himself spoke candidly about his current relationship with his family and how he has been "financially cut off", which initially left him fearing for the future.

Harry explained that he "had to get out", though when he did he was "cut off financially" when he and Meghan needed help the most...

He also added that they've since been relying on his inheritance from Princess Diana.

"I was totally cut off financially. My family cut me off – if I didn't have what my mom left me, we wouldn't have been able to do this."

"All I wanted to do was keep my family safe."

Meghan then insisted that they never had any plans at first to quit the U.K - she said the intention was to "do this forever" and that she told the royal family to "use me as much as you like".

Later in the interview, Oprah asked how the prince thinks the late Princess Diana would have felt about the rifts that drove them to step back from the royal family.

"I think she would feel very angry with how this has panned out, and very sad," Harry said, "But ultimately, all she'd ever want is for us to be happy."

People are still reeling in the aftermath of the shocking allegations made in the interview...

And of course, the majority of the heat has been turned onto one thing and one thing only... the British monarchy.

The monarchy has been slammed for allowing things to get so bad for Meghan and Harry...

And many feel that the true colors of the royal family have well and truly been shown.

Prince William and Kate Middleton were the ones who were certainly facing the heat in the aftermath of the interview...

Getty

And it was strongly suggested by Harry that he and his brother - the future King of England - no longer have a good relationship, which is terribly sad to hear.

Meghan also addressed that incident with her sister-in-law...

Headlines were made in 2018 when Meghan allegedly "made Kate cry" in a row about bridesmaids' dresses in the days before her and Harry's wedding - well, in her chat with Oprah, Meghan claimed that Kate was the one to make her cry.

Though she did stress that Kate had apologized and that she had "forgiven her."

People were blown away by the accusation...

And although Meghan insisted there was no bad blood between the pair and that they had always been on good terms, things weren't sounding good for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Meghan's claim has certainly divided a lot of opinions...

But it's clear that there are many firmly on Kate's side... including her uncle, who has recently spoken out publicly about the shocking claim.

Gary Goldsmith, a millionaire businessman and the uncle of Kate, has discussed the allegations against his niece with the Mail on Sunday...

And he brutally ripped into Meghan for being a "good actress" and for "manipulating her audience."

Speaking for the first time since the interview aired, Gary said:

"I've known Kate since she was born and she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. It's just simply not in her nature."

He went on to describe his niece as even "lovelier on the inside than on the outside"...

"If anyone had a hissy fit, it must have been Meghan. Kate would have been trying to make the peace. I would fight for Kate's honor until the day I die. She is the most spectacular person I've ever met."

The fifty-five-year-old then said he didn't "believe a word" that came out of Meghan's mouth.

"When Meghan first entered the Royal Family, I was made up for Harry," he said, "Like the rest of the country, it seemed she was the real deal and it was a marriage made in heaven. But what has happened is heartbreaking."

He then added:

"I don't blame Meghan – she's a Hollywood starlet. You can't blame a tiger for biting the head off a sheep. But I don't believe a word that comes out of her mouth. She's an actress and knows how to manipulate her audience. I don't believe for a second she had to Google the words to the National Anthem. Harry has been singing it since the age of 5."

He also questioned Harry's response to the effects that joining the royal family had on Meghan's state of mind.

"The last time I checked, he was the face of a mental wellbeing charity. Where was he in all this? Surely as her husband, he should have been able to give her the help and support she needed," the millionaire pondered.

"He's a senior Army officer who has been in a war zone. He should be able to stand up for himself and his wife. He shouldn't claim to be family-centric when he has hurt everyone who loves him. You don't ask for anonymity and take a step back from public life to then throw your family and your grandmother under a bus on TV. Why would you do that? The royal family is not racist, it's not sexist, it's not ageist. They are a moral compass."

"Both William and Kate understand they are being paid by the taxpayer to do a job. They smash it."

Getty

"It's a tough gig. It's relentless," Gary explained, "But it's also a position of privilege. If you have that privilege, don't throw it back in people's faces. In all the years Kate has been in the public eye, she has never put a foot wrong. She was born for the role. She has risen above the criticism and just got on with the job."

It's a difficult situation and many aren't sure what to believe...

But it's clear that there's a huge divide in the royal family at the moment which isn't good... at all.
