Now, we all know Wahlberg as being one of Hollywood’s most prolific actors.

And he’s risen to levels of unprecedented fame since his first acting job in 1994.

He’s best known for roles in movies such as The Perfect Storm (2000), Planet of the Apes (2001), and The Italian Job (2003)…

And he’s also known for comedic roles in movies such as Ted (2012) and Daddy’s Home (2015).

Alongside acting, Wahlberg is also a producer and businessman…

And he received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame back in 2010.

So, there’s no denying he’s had an extremely successful professional life…

But behind the scenes, things haven’t always been so seemingly perfect.

In fact, the actor is certainly no stranger to controversy.

As a teenager, Wahlberg, who comes from a family of 9 siblings, dropped out of high school and quickly became embroiled in a life of crime.

By the age of thirteen, he was addicted to drugs…

And he got himself involved in drug dealing, stealing, and all-around violent behavior which would eventually lead to him serving time in prison at the age of sixteen.

He’s certainly led a very interesting life…

But sadly, the actor was caught up in some pretty bad antics as a teenager and a young man.

In 2014, the actor attempted to seek pardon for one of the attacks and have it wiped from his criminal record, saying that while his celebrity should “in no way, shape or form” be a reason to grant it, he hoped his recent actions would show that he had changed.

“I am deeply sorry for the actions that I took on the night of April 8th, 1988, as well as for any lasting damage that I may have caused the victims. Since that time, I have dedicated myself to becoming a better person and citizen so that I can be a role model to my children and others,” he wrote in his pardon application.

He later dropped this request in 2016 and in a 2020 interview with The Guardian, he explained that he had “done the work” to make things right.

“I took it upon myself to own up to my mistakes and go against the grain and not be a part of the gang anymore – to say that I was going to go and do my own thing,” he explained.

“[It] made it ten times more difficult to walk from my home to the train station, to go to school, to go to work. But I also prided myself on doing the right thing and turning my life around… I would hope that people would be able to get a second chance in life.”

It’s clear that Wahlberg deeply regrets his vicious crimes…

And he’s been building on reforming himself for many years now.

Including his own personal health and fitness.

We all know that the actor is renowned for his incredible fitness and his dedication to staying in the best shape possible…

His grueling workout regimes that begin at 2 o’clock most mornings are quite something.

It’s a huge no from us, by the way!

But recently, attention has turned to another element of Wahlberg’s life…

His mother.

Just Wahlberg opened up about the death of his mother…

Who sadly passed away in April 2021.

One of the routines Wahlberg got into was calling his mom every single day. Back in 2018, Alma Wahlberg revealed: “Mark calls me from all over the world. Every single day.”

And day or night, Wahlberg always kept his promise. “I don’t care if it’s 3 o’clock in the morning!” Alma said of their frequent phone conversations.

However, Alma sadly died in April 2021, at the age of seventy-eight. And as well as losing a mom, Wahlberg lost a routine that he’d kept up for a whole decade.

“It was always the first phone call that I made every single day for the last 10 years, was to my mom,” he said, “And I don’t get to make that phone call anymore. And it’s heartbreaking. And that’s hard.”

Talking about his late mom, Wahlberg shared that she was proud of the man he had become, and his personal growth, not just his success on the big screen…

“What made her most proud was us really kind of turning our lives around and becoming really productive people and the family-oriented people that we are,” he explained.

“She was most proud of the husband and the dad that I was. I mean, she always appreciated the successes and the things that I was able to do professionally, but the personal growth really meant something to her.”

When Alma began struggling with dementia, the Wahlberg family grew closer. After her death, Wahlberg’s sister stepped up to take on the role missing from the family, which is something that he has thanked her for.

“Now I have my sister who has really been an enormous support system for our entire family,” he said.

“We’re now communicating much more than we were because everybody obviously was off doing their own thing and they’d be in their own lives. And now we’re constantly doing a multi-person FaceTime,” he said.

Interestingly enough, Wahlberg has worked opposite British model Kate Moss…

And it was their Calvin Klein shoot that got all the fashion critics talking, as well as there candid responses about working together…

The actress has previously spoken to Vanity Fair back in 2012 about the shoot…

  via Getty Images

And described the Wahlberg actor as a “d***head.”

She even said “he wasn’t very nice.”

  via Getty Images

We bet you didn’t expect to hear those words…

“I had a nervous breakdown when I was 17 or 18 when I had to go and work with Marky Mark and Herb Ritts.

  via Getty Images

“It didn’t feel like me at all. I felt really bad about straddling this buff guy. I didn’t like it. I couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks. I thought I was going to die,” the model confessed.

Well, lets just say the catty controversy didn’t end there, as Wahlberg later admitted to The Guardian that his behavior was “not likeable.”

  via Getty Images

And revealed it was “probably a little rough around the edges” at the time.

However, he didn’t forget to clarify that “he and Moss aren’t on bad terms.”

And that’s not all…

“I wasn’t very… worldly, let’s say that. But I’ve seen her and said hello. I think we saw each other at a concert here and there, we said hi and exchanged pleasantries,” he said.

Well, there’s more to the tale as Moss sat down in a recent interview to express how she truly felt at the time.

Moss was asked in the interview about how she remembered that particular Calvin Klein photoshoot…

  via Getty Images

And the supermodel replied with a very honest answer.

She host Lauren Laverne that “she didn’t have the best time working with Wahlberg.”

  via Getty Images

And that the event was “all about him,” she recalled.

Adding that she didn’t have “very good memories” of that shoot.

Moss then went on to reveal she didn’t “really feel well” leading up to the photoshoot, as she “couldn’t get out of bed for a week or two” because of the “severe anxiety” she was facing.

And she didn’t shy away from talking about what she thought of Wahlberg too…

“He was very macho, and it was all about him. He had a big entourage. I was just this model,”she said.

Moss then was asked whether she “felt objectified,” and her response was yet again brutally honest…

“Yeah completely. And vulnerable and scared. I think they played on my vulnerability. I was quite young and innocent, Calvin loved that,” she admitted.

What do you think of Moss’ comments?
