Yesterday's celebrations will go down in history, and one thing that caught the eye of Americans everywhere was the hidden details of Katy Perry's dress...

Yesterday was the all-important inauguration day.

Since it was announced that Joe Biden would be the forty-sixth President of the United States and Kamala Harris Vice President, many people have been counting down the days until the power exchange.

And already, Biden has began laying out plans for his presidency.

From his plans to re-vamp "controversial" laws left by his predecessor to uniting a divided country.

But one of the most exciting things about yesterday's event was the inauguration day TV special.

Celebrating America, hosted by the one and only Tom Hanks, which was just as amazing as everyone hoped.

The event featured some of our favorite celebrities...

Which was pretty exciting, to say the least.

The event celebrated the best aspects of the country and brought everyone together in celebration.

So let's take a look at last night's big event...

Of course, we have to start with all the celebrity performances.

From actors and actresses to musicians and even TikTok stars, the star-studded event was a night we'll all remember.

Up first, we have Lady Gaga.

The outspoken pop singer kicked off the entire day with her rendition of the National Anthem at the inauguration itself.

Then we had a series of other iconic female performers including Jennifer Lopez, Demi Lovato, and Andra Day...

The latter performed during the parade alongside figure skater Kaitlyn "the Skate Kid" Saunders.

And we weren't short of iconic male performers either.

John Legend took to the stage along with Joe Jonas, Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, and Justin Timberlake.

And that's not all...

On-screen POTUS Tony Goldwyn and the legend that is Kerry Washington hosted at the event. The Scandal stars each had their own segment; Goldwyn overwatched the "Parade Across America" as the University of Delaware and Howard University drumlines escorted Biden and Harris from 15th Street to the White House.

Kerry Washington, on the other hand, was joined by Housewife, Eva Longoria, introducing segments throughout the night...

Including one in which they honored young members that go above and beyond for their communities.

Other acts included Black Pumas, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Lin Manuel Miranda.

And then there was Amanda Gorman. The poet read a personal piece dedicated to the country earlier in the day.

When asked about the performance, she told The Times this:

"America is messy. It's still in its early development of all that we can become. And I have to recognize that in the poem. I can't ignore that or erase it. And so I crafted an inaugural poem that recognizes these scars and these wounds. Hopefully, it will move us toward healing them."

But it was Katy Perry that stole the show as the final performer at the Celebrating America concert.

And she well and truly brought the drama with her fashion on the night...

The Celebrating America special didn't have that many big fashion moments...

But Katy Perry brought a major look for the finale.

Perry wore a white gown while singing "Fireworks" as literal fireworks were set off.

Her dress featured a dramatic cape, gloves, and a corsetted waist, but it was the little details that caught everyone's eye.

The standout detail was the military-style buttons - blue ones on her sleeves along with red ones across her skirt.

The combination of red, white, and blue is clearly a homage to the American flag.

Having both colors on her dress may have also been a symbol of unity...

Bringing together the Democratic and Republican parties, a major theme of the inauguration.

Her all-white outfit may have also been in tribute to women's suffrage.. it is Katy Perry after all.

All in all the star definitely made a statement, and we loved it!
