A court hearing is set for March 28, which will see whether Clarkson’s changes go ahead for her to be known by her first and middle name…
Kelly Brianne.
Deciding on her name change isn’t the only decision Clarkson has had to make recently amid her divorce settlement.
Though recently she had some good news as a judge gave Clarkson full ownership of the $10.4 million ranch where Blackstock is currently staying.
Blackstock tried to argue that the house was “marital property,” but Clarkson bought the property, and the judge has ruled against his claims.
The virtual hearings stated that the properties “acquired during the marriage … are subject to the terms of the Premarital Agreement.”
“The Court further finds that the Montana Ranch and the other two Montana properties are not titled in both of the Parties’ names either as joint tenants with right of survivorship or as tenants by the entireties, as required under the PMA to create a marital property,” the document says.
“The Court, therefore, rejects Respondent’s [Blackstock’s] position that the Montana Ranch and other Montana properties are marital property owned 50/50 by the Parties.”
More than a year on from when their divorce was announced, Clarkson and Blackstock have reached a divorce settlement.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, Clarkson will have to pay Blackstock a one-time payment and on-going child support.
Clarkson will reportedly have to pay Blackstock a one-time payment of just over $1.3 million.
And, on a monthly basis, Clarkson will be required to pay Blackstock a child support payment of $45,601 for their 2 children.
This payment started on February 1.
The outlet reports that documents state Clarkson and Blackstock have agreed to joint custody of their children.
However, they will live with Clarkson at her home in Los Angeles.
The settlement also agreed that their children had to be vaccinated against Covid-19 due to them traveling to see their father.
Although both properties owned in Montana will go to Clarkson, Blackstock will remain living on the ranch for a short period and will pay Clarkson $2,000 a month, the outlet reports.
Additionally, the settlement stated that Clarkson will be required to pay Blackstock a payment of $115,000 per month in spousal support until January 31, 2024.
