Beloved actor John Travolta has just posted a heartbreaking Instagram post sharing the news that his wife, actress, and former model, Kelly Preston has tragically passed away. Now fans are sharing the last photo she posted on her own Instagram.

It has truly made the situation all the more heartbreaking.

Her husband, John Travolta, confirmed this morning that Kelly has died, aged just fifty-seven.

They shared two children: Ella, aged twenty, and Benjamin, 9. Their late son, Jett, tragically passed away in 2009 aged just sixteen.

Born on October 13, 1962, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kelly started off her career all the way back in 1988 with her role as “Marnie Mason” in Ivan Reitman’s Twins.

And we can’t forget Arnold Schwarzenegger, can we? What an iconic trio.

Soon after she moved to other more diverse roles in films including Citizen Ruth and For The Love of the Game.

Back in 1996, the actress played Avery Bishop, who was the girlfriend of the title character portrayed by none other than the man himself, Tom Cruise.

First, he gets fired and then a series of unfortunate events lead him down a downward path until he hits rock bottom.

And of course, you know the one I’m referring to…

In the scene, Jerry Maguire goes to see Avery at her workplace to beg for her support in resurrecting their relationship, but she wasn’t having any of it.

This then led to Kelly Preston punching Tom Cruise in the face 3 times before kneeing him right in the stomach. Ouch. And that’s where the line “I’m too strong for you, loser!” comes from, for those of you that didn’t know.

She went onto star in more blockbusters and starred alongside other prominent actors including George Clooney, Kevin Bacon, and Meg Ryan.

In her lifetime, she was involved with many charities including issues surrounding education and drug reform which she was awarded for.

After they got married back in 1991, no one could stop talking about how adorable they were together.

In a 2009 interview, Kelly opened up about how her belief in Scientology helped her to deal with the untimely death of her teenage son.

But we weren’t expecting the news about Kelly Preston’s death after her “secret” battle with breast cancer.

And it hit us pretty hard.

Josh Gad posted this to Twitter, saying he was in “absolute shock.”

He described her as a “sparkly-eyed gem.”

And it seems as though everyone had the same opinion on her – that she was a kind and bright soul.

Kelly’s final photo on her Instagram showed her hugging her family last month on Father’s Day.

And it made the news all the more heartbreaking.

It’s been very difficult news to stomach.

As the second photograph on the post shows a heartwarming photograph of Travolta and their late son.

Fans flocked to the photo to leave their own tributes to the beloved actress.

RIP Kelly Preston, you will be missed dearly. As this turbulent year rattles on, keep scrolling to see who else we’ve lost along the way…
