Saget sadly died on Sunday, January 9th.
He was tragically found unresponsive in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando.
Saget was best known for playing Danny Tanner in the 80s sitcom, Full House.
The popular sitcom ran from 1987 to 1995 with Saget later reprising the role in 2016 for a Netflix reboot, Fuller House.
Fuller House ran for 4 years.
Saget’s career included a role in Entourage and a popular podcast series named, Bob Saget’s Here for You.
He also voiced the narrator for How I Met Your Mother.
Saget was found unresponsive in his hotel room by staff at the Ritz-Carlton.
Local authorities were called to the hotel, however Saget was pronounced dead at the scene.
Saget, who was partway through a standup comedy tour, had performed a show in Jacksonville the night prior.
Posting a tweet about the show, Saget had wrote that he “loved tonight’s show” and was “happily addicted again to this.”
Saget’s passing was confirmed in a statement by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the Daily Mail reports.
In the statement police revealed that they had responded to “a man down” call “just after 4 p.m.”
“On arrival, they located a man who was unresponsive in a hotel room,” it read, the outlet reports.
“The man, identified as Robert Lane Saget, was pronounced deceased on scene.”
Police added that “no signs of foul play or drug use” were found by detectives.
However, they have no further “information on cause of death.”
Saget’s passing has come as a shock for many people including those around him.
And since the sad news broke, tributes remembering the star have been pouring in from friends, fans and colleagues.
Another person who paid tribute to Saget was John Stamos.
Stamos acted alongside Saget playing Uncle Jesse in Full House.
Stamos, a friend of many years, described himself as “broken” as he took to Twitter with a touching tribute.
“I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby,” he wrote.
Pete Davidson is another person who has come out about the heartbreaking passing of the tremendous actor, friend, father, and husband.
The American comedian, actor, and screenwriter has, in the past, opened up about the state of his mental health, saying that he was “in and out,” of inpatient facilities, as per Self, since he was just a nine-year-old boy.
And with everything Davidson has been through, he always had someone he could count on.
Chapelle recently said that he wished he’d replied to Bob Saget’s final text message.
Chapelle and Saget were very close, and they both supported each other through a lot, including every time Saget would hold fundraisers for scleroderma.
Performing at the Peppermint Club in Weho, Chapelle talked sentimentally for a moment.
Saying that you do not know what life can hold for you or other people.
Talking to his audience about laying his “comrad” down to rest, he said he didn’t see it “coming.”
“Man he just texted me and I saw the text yesterday and I never texted him back,” he began expressing his regret, as per TMZ.
“I was just busy. Yeah it happens
“I’m just saying this to remind you that these moments are precious and when I come out at night I’m not just hanging out, I’m making memories,” he continued.
“S**t when I go out at night, I’m making history,” he finished before talking about some criticism he received in 1 of his Netflix specials.
Everyone should take on his advice. Never leave a text unread, always tell a person you love them, and cherish every single memory.
And well, it seems as though people continue to display their never-ending love for Saget with John Mayer and Jeff Ross going to the airport to pick up his car.
John Mayer, an American songwriter and artist, and Jeff Ross, an American standup comedian, went recently to pick up Saget’s Prius at the LAX airport, and in doing so, they created a memory together, that we’re sure they’ll never forget.
In a video that John Mayer shared to his Instagram, the stars talked fondly of Saget.
“I’ve just never known a human being on this earth who could give that much love individually and completely to that many people in a way that made each person feel like he was the main character in their life,” Mayer began.
“He really was loved, he represented that, he had a beautiful wife, 3 daughters, and then made his fake family on TV into his real family,” Ross then added.
“Bob’s repeated expression of love is the greatest gift that he left people because all we have is the pain of his going,” Mayer added.
They both went on to talk about how vulnerable they feel “without him in the world,” laughing about how honored they are to pick his car up from LAX because they’ve not picked someone up from the airport in “ten years,” explaining that Saget is a special exception.
Picking up Saget’s car actually cost $250, as well. But, Ross wanted to pay for it, which, Mayer didn’t understand until he realized that Ross wanted to keep the receipt as a memory of Bob.
And in dealing with turmoil in his life, Saget always responded by lighting up the lives of others: “He was going to smile, and spread love, and be childlike, and be innocent,” Mayer explained.
But, not only did they share their love for the sweet personality Saget displayed, they shared how funny he was, as well.
“Right now he’d be saying ‘do you want to pull into crags and eat some meat?’ Bob loved his steak,” Ross said.
“I wanted him to just be my brother and not have him feel like he was having to take care of yet another person. He really did take care of everybody, he took care of me.
“If you need a pastrami sandwich at 3 in the morning because some girl just broke your heart, Bob was that guy,” Ross continued.
The two also posted individual tributes to Saget on their Instagram feeds, and they were as heart-melting as their video was.
Ross wrote in his tribute that he’d spent time crying with Saget’s family.
“I spent yesterday in Bob’s kitchen crying, eating, and even laughing with his awesome wife Kelly, a few of our close pals, and Bob’s wonderful castmates.
“Yes it was a full house but it still felt very very empty without our star. Bob made everything better and losing him hasn’t set in for me. But in a way, I think this is the easy part.
“The hard part will be next time I need advice or some cheering up or a pastrami sandwich at 2 am after a break-up and my pal Bob isn’t around to get me through it.
“I hope everyone reading this has a friend like Bob,” he finished.
And John Mayer’s post to Saget was just as heart-melting.
“My brother Bob was a force of nature; a big tall love monster who would hug me and rest his head on my shoulder. His love for those around him was always accounted for.
“He was deep and wide and vast, and he would’ve probably made a joke about me saying ‘deep and wide.’ The man had range. I’ve met many people in my life, but when Bob crossed my path, I just held onto him, and I wasn’t letting go.
“I knew he was the realest thing. I would like you to know that the man you hope was as awesome as you think was way beyond what you can ever imagine.
“He was impossibly kind. And generous. And loving. And I have more to say so please let me do like one more of these, okay? It’s just the way it’s gonna be,” he finished.
Bob was never one to cling to resentment and bitterness…
Instead, he just spread love to everybody he knew needed it.
And for that, everybody whose hearts have been touched by Bob Saget will be forever grateful.
If you want to see their entire tribute, both the highs and the lows, you can watch it below…
We all need to start living like Bob Saget did.
And yesterday (Friday 14), Saget was laid to rest.
Saget was laid to rest following a ceremony at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery in the Hollywood Hills. It was initially thought to be a small service, however around 300 people turned up to pay their respects.
Many of those who came to celebrate the life of Bob Saget were huge names in the entertainment industry.
Such as Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure, Dave Chappelle, Kathy Griffin, Chris Rock, Seth Green.
And of course, the cast of Full House came to pay their regards.
With the pallbearers including John Mayer, John Stamos, Norman Lear, Dave Coulier, Jeff Ross, Judd Apatow, Ted Sarandos and Steve Hale.
Of course, Bob’s family were also in attendance.
As well as hundreds of others who Saget had touched the life of through his comedy, his friendship, and his good hearted soul.
Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, expressed her love for her husband in a unique way at the funeral.
By wearing his wedding ring on a necklace as she mourned her husband’s death.
The Eat Travel Rock blogger, 42, wore the wedding ring with a gold chain threaded through it.
It was obviously a very hard day for Rizzo, but it certainly appears to have been a beautiful send off for the entertainment great.
Our thoughts are with Saget’s family and friends during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, Bob Saget.
