Social media star Khaby Lame has beaten Charli D’Amelio to become the most followed person on TikTok.

Known as the king of TikTok for his hilarious life hack videos, Lame has managed to knock Charli D’Amelio from the top spot…

The Senegalese-born prankster, who is based in Italy, took D’Amelio’s spot when he pushed to 142.2 million followers, beating D’Amelio’s 142.1 million, LADbible reports.

The 22-year-old social media comedian told The New York Times that his expressions are a “global language.”

It all started when his followers began to use the hashtag #KhabyToNumberOne, a movement that has seen the creator’s following grow in recent months.

Speaking about why fans connect with his videos, Lame said it’s his “face and expressions which make people laugh.”

While D’Amelio began her career on the social media platform in 2019…

The 18-year-old dancing sensation quickly rose to fame, becoming the most followed content creator on the platform — reaching 100 million followers in 2020.

And when she hit 100 million followers, D’Amelio shared a video with the caption: “A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED ME REACH 100 MILLION SUPPORTERS!!! AND ANOTHER HUGE THANK YOU TO @tiktok I LOVE EVERY ONE OF YOU!!!”

She explained in the video that the achievement felt like a “dream” and said
she couldn’t “believe there’s 100 million supporters following me right now.”

“That is insane, oh my goodness, thank you,” she added.
