Before the Succession to the Crown Act 2013, the birth of a son meant that he would leap over any older daughters in the line of succession.
But, now that Princess Charlotte hasn’t been ruled out by gender, Prince Louis remains fifth-in-line to the throne, while Charlotte is fourth-in-line behind her older brother, Prince George.

Particularly given William’s strained relationship with his brother Prince Harry.
It’s been a tumultuous couple of years for the royal family when it comes to their relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
People have seen what appears to be a break down in William and Harry’s relationship.
In Harry’s book, Spare, released this year, he detailed a physical fight he once had with William.
According to the Guardian, in an extract from his book, Spare, Harry writes: “He called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor.”
“I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me.”
“I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”
Harry then claimed William asked him not to tell Meghan about the fight.
“You mean that you attacked me?” Harry asked.
William responded: “I didn’t attack you, Harold.”
Harry also claimed Meghan noticed the “scrapes and bruises” on his back.
Not only that, but in Harry and Meghan’s documentary series, Harry also opened up about a time that William “screamed and shouted at him.”
And it certainly got people talking…
Harry said in the documentary: “It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me, and my father say things that just simply weren’t true.”
He further added that his “grandmother, you know, quietly sit there, and sort of take it all in.”
He also shared several never seen before pictures of him and William from when they were young.
During one episode of the documentary, Harry and Meghan were shown looking through a scrapbook while reflecting on the time the couple spent at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
According to OK, Meghan said: “We were going through so many boxes just literally looking at everything going, ‘Oh my gosh, you bought this blanket I missed, that hat was so funny’, just taking it all in.
While looking through the scrapbook, some images were shown.
And among those were pictures of Harry and William.
The outlet reports that a collage of pictures from when William and Harry were younger when shown.
The pictures showed the pair with smiles on their faces from a family holiday.
Other images in the scrapbook include Harry and William posing on a beach and using binoculars.
William and Kate then hit headlines for a very different reason…
It surrounds some baby news.
Some baby news about the pair took the internet by storm.
As a royal biographer claimed Kate will have had to undergo a fertility test before the pair married!
In Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family, author Tom Quinn made the shock revelation.
“These are always carried out to ensure a future queen is able to have children.”
“If Kate had not been fertile, there is little doubt the marriage would have been off.”

And now, as King Charles’ coronation approaches, William and Kate are in the headlines once more.
As one of Charles’ moves has sparked rumors of William’s infidelities.
He has offered the Marquess of Cholmondeley a new role.
The Marquess, real name David Rocksavage, will now serve as the King’s Lord-in-Waiting.
The reason this relates to Will and Kate?
Well, it’s because of the persistent rumors that William had an affair with Rocksavage’s wife, Rose.
David and Rose married in quite a rushed way in 2009.
The Marquess is also notably 23 years his wife’s senior.
They also have three children together, twin sons Alexander and Oliver, and a daughter Iris.
It seems as though the couple remains close to Kate and William, even living near each other in Norfolk.
However, Charles’ choice of appointment to the Rocksavages is controversial, as it appears to catapult the affair rumors back into the spotlight.
With some people even claiming that Charles only made the decision to help cover up the affair.
