Kristin Cavallari is causing some serious online debates following her recent comments about how long to wait before having sex.

Once a celebrity starts a podcast, it’s almost guaranteed that they’re going to make headlines for something they might wish they hadn’t said.

Though stars are used to being in front of the camera, something seems to change once they’re on the mic for mostly unedited, long form content.

That’s part of the reason so many people love podcasts, because it’s an opportunity to see a different side of your favorite celebs.

On the flip side, it also makes for some interesting soundbites which–a lot of times–end up getting stars in trouble.

The latest star to get the wrath of the internet is former reality star Kristin Cavallari, who has her own podcast titled, Let’s Be Honest.

On a recent episode of the podcast, she did just that, giving her honest opinion about how long to wait before having sex with someone you’re dating–but a lot of fans were outraged by what she said.

During a segment of the show where the Laguna Beach alum answers fan questions,
a podcast listener asked Cavallari, “How many dates until you sleep with a guy?”

“I don’t think it f***ing matters,” she responded very bluntly. “It doesn’t f***ing matter if you sleep with him the first or the 10th date.”

Kristin continued: “If there is chemistry and feelings there, it doesn’t matter.”

The Very Cavallari alum revealed she used to “wait three or four dates” before becoming getting into bed with someone, but eventually realized that if it’s the right person, the amount of time doesn’t matter.

After sharing a clip of her podcast to Instagram sharing her opinion on the matter, the comments section quickly filled with fans debating the matter.

“Soul ties are a real thing. You’re absolutely damaging yourself if you sleep around and give it up to anyone you have chemistry with,” one user wrote.

Another commented: “This is the absolute worst advice to give to young females, especially in today’s society.”

One fan made their disapproval personal, writing, “That’s why you’re divorced and still looking for someone at 40+.”

Still, some of Cavallari’s followers did agree with her take, insisting that timing doesn’t matter as long as you have found the right person.

“Same night as first date, engaged 7 months later, married 9 years,” one commenter said. “It will be okay if you bone the first night. Trust me. 😂”

Another added: “These comments are crazy ??? women (and men) can do whatever they want as consenting adults.”

Fellow podcast host and Bachelorette alum Nick Viall also chimed in, agreeing with Cavallari.
“I hear no lies,” he wrote.

Kristin just recently made headlines after revealing that her “hottest hookup” was with another Bachelorette alum: Tyler Cameron. She made the big reveal during a question and answer segment on an episode of her podcast.

“This is so funny,” she said with a laugh. “OK, if I were just purely basing it on looks, right? Like put every guy in a lineup, nothing to do with like chemistry, or just like, the hottest?”

“Tyler Cameron,” Kristin shared. “And believe it or not, you guys, I know this is really freaking hard to believe – he’s hotter in person.”

“It’s insane,” she stressed. “It’s insane. So yeah, TC for you baby.”

Back in September, Cavallari opened up about her experience getting back into the dating scene nearly four years after her divorce from former NFL star Jay Cutler. At the time, the Uncommon James founder said she’s “done” dating in Nashville.

“I’ve decided I’m done dating in Nashville,” Cavallari told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “I would consider myself to be a monk at this point. You can throw anything at me, and I’m like, ‘OK.'”

“I’ll go out with certain guys, and I’m like, ‘They’re great,’ but can I picture them as a stepdad? And I’m like, ‘No!’ And that’s the biggest part of my life,” she explained. “I am ready to settle down. I’m ready to meet someone.”

Together, Cavallari and Cutler share three kids: daughter Saylor, and sons Jaxon and Camden.

As she navigates her love life after divorce, the former reality star is open with her kids about the fact that she’s dating.

“I tell them who I’m talking to or what’s going on, and they have strong opinions about these guys,” she shared.

After 7 years of marriage and 10 years together, Kristin and Jay announced their divorce with a joint statement back in 2020.
“With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce,” Cavallari wrote on social media at the time.

“We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of,” she concluded.
