It has just been announced today that Lady Gaga will be singing the national anthem at Joe Biden's inauguration alongside a whole array of special celebrity guest appearances.
Here are the full details...
The exciting news comes after Joe Biden's official inauguration announcement.
Biden has endured a long and tedious battle for his place in the White House...
And, 2 decades after his initial presidential bid...
Last year marked his third run for president...
And saw him go head to head with the notorious President Donald Trump. It was one hell of a run-up to the election.
And the votes didn't lie!
This was a historic win...
Not only because Biden broke Barack Obama's record for the most votes cast for a presidential candidate, but also because vice president-elect, Kamala Harris, will be the first-ever woman of color to be elected in office. Simply amazing.Of course, President Donald Trump didn't take to this news well, at all...
Biden, on the other hand, accepted his win graciously...
And the president-elect, along with his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, has been celebrating along with the rest of the country. And this week, Biden officially announced his inauguration theme.
The theme of @JoeBiden's inauguration (Jan. 20) will be #AmericaUnited 🇺🇸

In addition to the theme, 2 Inauguration Day events were also announced...

The inaugural committee also plans to install an art display on the National Mall.
The "Field of Flags" will include 191,500 American flags, representing the Americans who couldn't be at the celebration.
There's even an option to become a "symbolic sponsor" of the flag display.
Proud to be chosen as a Partner in Service for Biden's inauguration! A portion of donations for the "field of flags" display will come to EBB to support Black birthing people in the Triangle and improve maternal health.

"This inauguration marks a new chapter for the American people — one of healing, of unifying, of coming together, of an America united. It is time to turn the page on this era of division."
Can’t wait to proudly display our flag again beginning on Inauguration Day.

"The inaugural activities will reflect our shared values and serve as a reminder that we are stronger together than we are apart, just as our motto 'e pluribus unum' reminds us — out of many, one," Biden inauguration CEO Tony Allen said.
The ceremony will be scaled-down at the US Capitol...
The bravest thing @JoeBiden, @KamalaHarris and @SpeakerPelosi can do is stay safe for democracy. The only inaugural "norm" that counts is ensuring the transfer of power to the Biden Admin and protecting a pro-democracy line of succession. The terrorists win if the coup succeeds.

Because of the continuing coronavirus pandemic and because of the riots.
It was then revealed that there will be another event titled, Celebrating America, hosted by the one and only Tom Hanks.
The ninety-minute event is going to be hosted by the A-Lister and will feature a whole array of celebrities including Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovi, and Demi Lovato.
It will be available to watch across major television networks, including ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, and CNN.
It's also expected to stream on various online outlets and the Presidential Inaugural Committee's social media feeds.
Tony Allen, Presidential Inaugural Committee said this:
"This inauguration presents a unique opportunity to spotlight the resilience and spirit of an America United. We have witnessed countless heroes this past year step up to the frontlines and serve their fellow Americans, so we are telling their stories, spreading their collective light, and celebrating the best of our country and its people with this primetime program."
And now, there's been another announcement...
The Biden-Harris inaugural committee confirmed to Variety that Lady Gaga is set to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" for Biden's swearing-in ceremony.
This typically begins around 11:30 a.m. ET on the West front of the U.S. Capitol...
According to Variety, also in line to take to the stage for the ceremony: Jennifer Lopez will perform; Andrea Hall, a career firefighter, will lead in the Pledge of Allegiance; Amanda Gorman, the first-ever National Youth Poet Laureate will recite a poem; an invocation will be delivered by Father Leo O'Donovan, and a benediction by Reverend Dr. Silvester Beaman, both longtime friends of the Biden family.
