Lady Gaga has opened up about her wishes for Joe Biden's inauguration today, and we couldn't agree more...

Now, the run-up to Biden's inauguration has been a tense one, to say the least.

Since his election victory on November 7th, our country has experienced political tensions like never before.

Most people argue that Biden's win was a fair one...

After 4 long days of vote counting - and plenty of recounting - the Democrat was projected as the forty-sixth President of the United States.

Upon the news of his victory, Biden Tweeted this:

"America, I'm honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me."

However, people on the other side of the political spectrum are not convinced by the legitimacy of the Biden-Harris win.

President Trump instantly attacked Biden's win with several accusations of electoral fraud - all of which are yet to be proven or backed up with any evidence.

Of course, his loyal supporters lapped up his unfortified claims without hesitation...

And, as a result, the already tense divide between the Republicans and the Democrats only deepened.

Clearly, Trump has been doing everything in his power to challenge the election result...

But, on January 6th, enraged Trump supporters took matters into their own hands.

After repeated instructions by the president to "fight for the White House," hundreds of his supporters stormed the U.S Capitol...

During which a joint session of Congress had convened to formally count the Electoral College votes and certify Joe Biden's election win.

Things quickly became violent...

And the world watched on, horrified, as the building was overtaken and vandalized by the rioters.

It was clear to see that the police were completely overwhelmed...

And disgracefully underprepared.

So, as the preparations for Biden's inauguration ceremony got underway...

Security was tighter than ever before.

Clearly, the authorities have been determined to make sure the events from January 6th will not be repeating themselves.

Throughout the past week, photos of the overwhelming military presence in Washington D.C have been circulating the internet.

But now, Lady Gaga has given us something a little more positive to look forward to...

As she shared her wishes for the Inauguration today, posting a photo of herself at the Capitol.

Her words have been heard by thousands...

Who also hope the day is filled with positivity.

Lady Gaga, like many others, is looking forward to a peaceful day today...

And after the year we've just had, we totally agree.

A day before the singer is set to perform the national anthem at Biden's inauguration in Washington, D.C....

She shared a touching message about the exciting day ahead.

"I pray tomorrow will be a day of peace for all Americans. A day for love, not hatred. A day for acceptance, not fear," she wrote...

Captioning a photo of herself in a Leia Organa themed outfit in the Capitol rotunda.

"A day for dreaming of our future joy as a country. A dream that is non-violent, a dream that provides safety for our souls," she continued. "Love, from the Capitol 🇺🇸."

Last week, Gaga shared that she was "deeply honored" to perform at the event...

This comes after months of helping Biden with his election campaign.

"@joebiden @KamalaHarris and the American people, you just gave the world one of the greatest acts of kindness and bravery humanity has ever seen," she captioned a photo of her and Biden. "Nothing but love for our new Commander in Chief and the 1ST female VP elected to the White House. Also, way to go PA 😭❤️"

The singer also performed in Pennsylvania a week before the election to support Biden.

"Something, something about my cool Pennsylvania guy," she sang. "There's something about, Joe, you and I."

We can't wait for her performance! You can read her full post below.
