Now, Lana Del Ray is known for her cinematic quality music.
Let’s not forget her melancholic lyrics, usually seeped in themes of tragic romance.
Her music has helped many people get through some pretty tough heartbreaks.
She seems to feel every word she writes and has gained a huge fanbase because of it.
Lana started out in music years before the release of her single ‘Video Games’ but it’s that track that catapulted her into the spotlight.
I’m pretty sure we all had that on repeat at one point or another.
It was after this that she signed a recording contract with Polydor
and Interscope.
And then came her second album, Born to Die, which we can all agree was a classic.
‘Summertime Sadness’ still has to be a fan favorite.
She finally received the critical and commercial success that she’d been working so hard to achieve.
And it was only the start of her hugely successful career.
However, it hasn’t always been easy for the star.
She’s had to deal with her fair share of issues in her early life. One of them was a drinking problem when she was just a teenager.
She has previously shared that she had a fixation with death from being young, which gave her anxiety and made her feel alienated at school.
“When I was very young I was sort of floored by the fact that my mother and my father and everyone I knew was going to die one day, and myself too. I had a sort of a philosophical crisis. I couldn’t believe that we were mortal. For some reason that knowledge sort of overshadowed my experience. I was unhappy for some time. I got into a lot of trouble. I used to drink a lot. That was a hard time in my life.”
Music seems to be a way for her to harness those intense feelings into something creative, and a lot of people can resonate with that.
When it comes to her relationships, it appears that art imitates life, specifically when it comes to the people she dates.
It might seem as though she likes singing about relationships and breakups, but when it comes to her own, she’s pretty private.
Lana’s dating history is strangely random, to say the least. She’s had her fair share of hookups, long-term partners, and even a couple of engagements!
She may keep her love life private, but according to the star, she loves romance. “when that’s your prerogative, things don’t end in a traditional way,” she admitted to Rolling Stone back in 2014.
“You don’t have that traditional relationship where maybe you go out with couples at night, or you do normal things. It’s more of an extension of the creative process. There’s high-impact events that happen, or big adventures, or big fallouts. So it’s inspiring, and it’s not grounding, but it’s what I need to keep going.”
According to Us Weekly, Lana got engaged to Scottish singer Barrie-James O’Neill in 2013 after two years of dating, however, a year later they broke up.
“We are currently not together,” Us Weekly reported at the time “He is a wonderful person. But there are some things he has to deal with.”
Shortly after this, Lana began dating Italian photographer Francesco Carrozzini for a little over a year before splitting in November 2015.
“They love each other, but she’s wanted to settle down for over a year now and he’s just not there yet,” an insider told Daily News.
In April 2017, Lana and G-Eazy were reportedly seen kissing at Coachella. “They were together for the entire weekend,” a source told The Mirror.
“They barely left one another’s sides and looked very lovey-dovey.” However, just 5 months after the festival, they both moved on, as per the Sunday Mirror.
Two years later, Lana reportedly started dating police officer Sean Larkin. She later confirmed this to the Los Angeles Times.
But it wasn’t meant to be and 6 months after they got together, they decided to go their separate ways.
Then came Clayton Johnson in December 2020, fans saw what appeared to be wearing an engagement ring while on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
The next day, sources claimed the pair were engaged. Sadly their union didn’t work and they also broke up.
And now, this week, photos of what appear to be Lana with her new boyfriend, Jack Donoghue, have blown up on Twitter.

Her allegedly boyfriend Jack is a member of the band S4LEM, and the pair were recently seen outside Cook County Jail in Illinois together visiting his family.
This comes after Jack posted a since-deleted video of Lana back in February, in which she can be heard calling him “babe.”
