It has been revealed today that Liam Neeson will be retiring from action movies. I know, just when you thought this year could possibly be better than last year.

Now, this news has shocked many...
Because Neeson is undeniably at the top of the big-screen game - the star, who was born in Northern Ireland, has been in some of the biggest productions of our time.
The big-screen native began pursuing an acting career in the mid-'70s.
His breakout role came with the 1993 Holocaust blockbuster, Schindler's List.
Liam garnered an Academy Award nomination for his role in the acclaimed movie...And it well and truly shot him to box office fame.
The actor went on to headline several films throughout the '90s...
Including the likes of Nell (1994), Rob Roy (1995), Michael Collins (1996), and an adaptation of Les Misérables (1998).
But he had another huge wave of success in 1999...The actor bagged the role of Jedi mentor Qui-Gon Jinn in the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
His career continued on an upward streak through the '00s.In 2004, Liam starred in Kinsey which earned a Golden Globe nomination for his work. The following year, he returned to the superhero genre as Ra's al Ghul in Batman Begins, and voiced Aslan the lion for the first of 3 movie adaptations of The Chronicles of Narnia.
And of course, who can forget?
One of his most popular roles to date came with 2008's Taken, where he portrays an ex-CIA operative on the hunt for his kidnapped daughter.
But even in more recent years, Liam continues to act.
And his most recent work came in 2019 in Cold Pursuit - it seems there really is no stopping the actor, doesn't it?
But this week, Liam has shared some heartbreaking news.
He has announced that he will be retiring from action movies.
Of course, his announcement has been met with shock and heartache by fans from all over the world...
He made his revelation in a recent interview with ET.
"Oh, yeah. I think so," he said in response to being asked if his action movie career is coming to an end. "I'm sixty-eight and a half!"
But don't worry, there are still a few more Neeson action movies in the pipeline!
"There's a couple more I'm going to do this year - hopefully, COVID allowing us - there's a couple in the pipeline and, then I think that will probably be it. Well, unless I'm on a [walker] or something," he explained.
We'll certainly miss him!
