The tragic news has just come in that Gone Girl star Lisa Banes has sadly passed away.
Her passing comes ten days after she was struck by an electric scooter in a hit-and-run in New York.
She was sixty-five-years-old.
Banes, best known for appearances in Gone Girl and Cocktail, was visiting the city earlier this month when the tragic incident happened.
Banes was on her way to meet her wife, Kathryn Kranhold, for a dinner party on June 4th when she was struck down by scooter, the New York Post reports.
She was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside hospital where she remained in critical care due to suffering a traumatic brain injury.
She died on June 14th.
Last week, Kranhold issued an appeal for members public to come forward with any information about the hit-and-run.
As per the Daily Mail, a spokesperson for the NYPD said on Monday that no arrests have been made in the case.
“We are heartsick of Lisa’s tragic and senseless passing,” a representative for Banes said, The Guardian reports.
“She was a woman of great spirit, kindness and generosity and dedicated to her work, whether on stage or in front of a camera and even more so to her wife, family and friends… We were blessed to have had her in our lives.”
Our thoughts are with her family and friends.
Rest in peace, Lisa Banes
