In mid-December, Redditors ProlificSalo and BitDestroyer had a baby who they named River. River joined her parents and two Shiba Inus at home. The "binary pups" are named Ichi (which means "One" in Japanese) and Zero.
Zero, mom reports, has claimed ownership of young River and remains by her side at all times. (And for all concerned readers, dad ensures that the baby is never left alone with the dogs.)
Whenever possible Zero is in close attendance, whether during...
...naptime...
...diaper changes...
...playtime...
...dad time...
...or mom time.
The Japanese breed standard for Shiba Inus describe the dog...
The Shiba has an independent nature and can be reserved toward strangers but is loyal and affectionate to those who earn his respect.
River, unsurprisingly, has earned that canine commitment in no time at all.
