It seems the world is still ‘Hung Up’ on Madonna as she has hit a massive music milestone.
Pop sensation Madonna has become the first woman to have a Billboard 200 Top 10 Album in every single decade since the ’80s.
Since her self-titled debut album Madonna released in 1982, she has brought out fourteen studio albums, as well as an impressive discography of soundtrack albums, live albums, and even 7 compilation albums. In 1984, her first album hit the Billboard 200 Top 10, starting her career with a boom.
Over the course of her impressive career, Madonna has landed twenty-three albums in the top 10 charts.
This year her newest album, Finally Enough Love, debuted at number 8, meaning that since the ’80s every decade since has had at least one Madonna album breaking the top 10. She is the first female artist to do this and is just one of 10 artists to ever achieve this accomplishment.
She firmly stands among the great with this triumph.
As the tenth artist to reach this milestone, she joins Paul McCartney, Ozzy Ozbourne, and previous collaborator, Prince. This is no surprise as she’s held some of the highest titles in music in the past including most top-ten singles in the Hot 100 until 2020 when she was overtaken by rapper Drake.
Madonna’s relevancy and popularity don’t seem to be dying down.
In the last decade alone the pop superstar has released a tour documentary titled Madame X, continued to tour, and collaborated with many current and popular names in the industry like Nicki Minaj and Chance the Rapper.
This is just the latest in a career full of achievements and titles that prove she really is the Queen of Pop.
The Huffington Post reports that Madonna now ranks second on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart behind Taylor Swift who has 10 No. 1 records in that bracket. Only time will tell if Miss Swift has the same longevity in music…
