“Because they’re my songs. Ownership is everything isn’t it?” she replied.

But it’s something else Madonna revealed that is catching the eyes of fans…

According to an interview in the Variety, Madonna is “developing the screenplay for a feature-length biopic about her colourful life and career…”

She also opened up about why she wants to direct her own biopic.

“No one’s going to tell my story, but me,’ she told the media outlet.

The fashion icon then went on to express her desire to see her vision come to life.

“I’ve had an extraordinary life, I must make an extraordinary film.”

“It was also a preemptive strike because a lot of people were trying to make movies about me. Mostly misogynistic men,” added the singer.

And she didn’t shy away from saying it “is her story…”

“So I put my foot in the door and said, “No one’s going to tell my story, but me,” said the Material Girl singer.

The star singer also revealed where in the process of scripting she is, to which she replied: “a very long script that is really hard for me to make shorter”.

“I’ve been whittling away at it, but it’s like hacking off my limbs,” the star singer concluded.

According to reports in The Independent, Julia Garner has been roped in to play Madonna because she “was a favourite” from a dozen candidates for the iconic singer.

As apparently, the biopic has “already been set up with Universal Pictures,” but no release date has been confirmed yet.
