Malala Yousafzai has recently tied the knot with her partner, Asser Malik and the photographs from the traditional, Islamic ceremony are absolutely stunning.
Tweeting about the special occasion on Tuesday, the twenty-four-year-old actvist said that she was “excited” for the future.
“Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families.”
She continued: “Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.”
Alongside the caption, she posted 4 beautiful photographs from the nikkah ceremony which took place in Birmingham, England, in which both parties consented to the marriage.
Malala was dressed in a rose, pink salwar kameez with gold embroidery, while Asser turned up in a classic tux and a pink tie, a little nod to his wife’s dress.
Alongside them, were Malala’s parents who both smiled proudly sat next to their daughter and new son-in-law.
Kind words of congratulations poured in for the couple, with fans wishing them both well for their new life together.
Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, even offered his congratulations to the Women’s Rights activist writing: “Congratulations, Malala and Asser! Sophie and I hope you enjoyed your special day – we’re wishing you a lifetime of happiness together.”
Now, what do we know about Malala’s husband, Asser Malik?
Well, Malik is currently the High Performance General Manager of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), a position which he took after graduating from Pakistan’s Lahore University of Management Sciences.
Even though we’re not particularly sure how long they’ve been seeing each other, according to malik’s Instagram account, it’s been a little while due to appearing in multiple photos together.
Congratulations Malala and Asser!
We hope you have a long and blessed marriage.
