Malcolm X’s daughter, Malikah Shabazz has sadly died.

Shabazz was fifty-six years old.

Since the news broke, tributes have been pouring in…

Shabazz was found dead at her home in New York.

She was found unresponsive on Monday around 4.30pm, The Independent reports.

Shabazz is the daughter of the late civil rights leader, Malcolm X.

She was one of Malcolm X’s 6 children with wife Betty Shabazz.

Sadly, Shabazz never met her father as she was born 7 months after his assassination.

Malcolm X was assassinated in 1965 at the age of thirty-nine.

His assassination took place in a New York City ballroom.

He was shot in front of a crowd that included his family.

Her death comes days after the 2 men convicted of killing her father were exonerated.

The convictions against Muhammad Aziz and the late Khalil Islam were dropped by a judge last week after new evidence was brought to life, NBC reports.

The pair had maintained their innocence over the years.

But, people think the timing of their exoneration and her death is suspicious.

Despite speculations, an NYPD spokesperson has said that her death is not deemed suspicious, NBC reports.

A cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends.

Rest in peace, Malikah Shabazz.
