COVID-19 took the entire planet hostage back in March, and things have been nothing short of diabolical ever since.

Over 1.5 million people have tragically died from the virus as a result...

And even more alarmingly so, the United States of America is the worst affected country in the world - with more than 330,000 deaths alone, at the time of reporting.

Of course, there's no denying how unprepared the entire world was for this pandemic...

And Donald Trump's eagerness to tone down the virus didn't at all go to plan.

Even when the president tested positive for COVID himself in October...

He continued to play it down and insist that we can simply "live with the virus."

This was extremely alarming for many to hear from one of the most powerful leaders in the world...

And it got us all wondering... What's the progress with the much-needed vaccine?

Pharmaceutical organizations from all around the world have been working tirelessly to discover a vaccine for months...

But, to begin with, they didn't have much luck.

However, some amazing news was brought to us a couple of weeks ago.

The vaccine that American multinational pharmaceutical corporation, Pfizer and German biotechnology company, BioNTech have been working on for the last few months is finally ready.

The vaccine underwent its phase 3 study...

Which has enrolled 44,000 people in the U.S and in 5 other countries.

And as for the results?

Well, they were looking that good that some countries started distributing the COVID vaccine out to their citizens a few weeks ago.

And over in the United Kingdom...

The first 800,000 doses of the vaccine have been getting steadily administered to eager patients from all across the country.

Things are looking up...

And if this vaccine is as effective as its researchers and developers have insisted, we could be looking at a normal reality in a mere few months!

However, despite the exciting vaccine news...

There are still many people who don't trust the vaccine.

Speculation regarding the vaccine has been rife...

With many people concerned about possible side effects.

Now, there is one story that may help the concern surrounding side-effects.

After one man was accidentally administered the vaccine 5 times.

Uday Azizi, a pharmacist from Israel, qualified to be one of the first people to receive the new vaccine due to his occupation.

He arrived at the Shlomo Group Arena in Tel Aviv on Monday to receive his first dose of the vaccine, but what he actually got was a lot more...

Uday received 5 doses of the COVID vaccine.

Yes, you read that right.

The nurse administering Uday's vaccine did not realize that each bottle containing the vaccine held up to five doses.

Sometimes, even more.

Upon realizing the mistake, Uday was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Fortunately, other than redness and swelling around the injection site, Uday suffered no effects. A result that is similar to when Pfizer reportedly carried out tests for a similar scenario.

Uday was reportedly unphased when he was first told about the mistake.

The Times of Israel reported that he told Channel 12 News, "I have no problem with getting several doses again. Let's be optimistic about the vaccine, the entire situation, and the new year maybe."

The Ministry of Health responded to the incident saying, "This is one case. It is being investigated by the Ministry of Health and we will be sending out another letter tightening up the procedure for the entire health system."

"The Ministry of Health is continuing to conduct the vaccination process and will continue to update procedures as such exceptional incidents occur in order to improve the operation," LadBible reported.

Worst of all, Uday will still need to return in 3 weeks for his follow-up injection.
