Man Arrested for Stalking Shakira and Sending Gifts to Her Miami Mansion

Meet Daniel Valtier, a 56-year-old man from El Paso, Texas, who claimed to be in a romantic relationship with the renowned singer.

A Troubling Obsession Unveiled

It all came to light when Shakira’s security team discovered alarming social media posts by Daniel John Valtier, hinting at his delusional obsession with the singer. 

Valtier boldly proclaimed to the world that he was not only romantically involved with Shakira but also married to her. 

These false claims about a shared family life with the star sent shockwaves through Shakira’s team and raised concerns about her safety and that of her children, Milan and Sasha.

The Unwanted Deliveries

Valtier’s obsession didn’t stop at social media posts, though. 

He took it a step further by repeatedly sending unsolicited gifts to Shakira’s Miami Beach home. 

The packages contained various items, including wine, chocolate, and toys. 

Despite repeated warnings from Shakira’s team, Valtier persisted in his behavior, seemingly undeterred by the boundaries set by the singer and her security measures.

Shakira’s Security Team Takes Action

Shakira’s security team had been closely monitoring Valtier’s activities since late December 2023. 

Their vigilance paid off when they stumbled upon a concerning social media post in which Valtier expressed his intention to visit Shakira in Florida. 

Given that Valtier resided in Texas, this raised red flags and prompted immediate action

The security team promptly alerted the police, who swiftly intervened to ensure the singer’s safety.

The Arrest and its Implications

As Valtier approached Shakira’s Miami Beach home, he was met with a team of Miami Beach officers ready to apprehend him. 

The arrest not only put an end to Valtier’s relentless pursuit but also shed light on the ongoing challenges that celebrities face when it comes to personal safety and the risks posed by overzealous fans. 

It became evident that Valtier had no personal connection to Shakira or her family, making his actions all the more alarming.

A Troubling Pattern Emerges

This is not the first time Shakira has had to endure such a distressing situation. 

In June 2022, she faced a similar incident when a stalker left graffiti messages outside her home in Barcelona. 

The messages, written in English, expressed adoration for the singer and contained unsettling statements such as “I’m coming for you, my love” and “I’m ready to marry you right now and support you.” 

The situation prompted the involvement of local authorities, who handled the matter discreetly.
