In the month of July, Reynolds opened up his PayPal account to discover the balance was way higher than normal.

His account was showing a balance of $92,233,720,368,547,800!
This made the fifty-six-year-old over a million times richer than the next richest person.

At the time, the world’s richest person was Carlos Slim, a Mexican businessman who was worth $67 billion.
Reynolds was even the only quadrillionaire on the planet!

As per UNILAD, Reynolds said: “It’s a curious thing. I don’t know, maybe someone was having fun.”
However, when he logged back in 2 minutes later, his balance was showing $0.

PayPal had quickly realized their mistake and apologized for the so-called inconvenience.
He said that prior to the accident, the most that he had ever had in his PayPal account was around $1,000 thanks to his sales of vintage car tyres on eBay.

When asked what he would have done if he could have kept the money, Reynolds told CNN: “I probably would have paid down the national debt.”
In response to the whole debacle, PayPal said: “This is obviously an error and we appreciate that Mr. Reynolds understood this was the case.”

However, they did give Reynolds a very kind suggestion…
They offered to donate an unspecified sum to a charity of Reynolds’ choice.
