Man Gives Wife an 'Annual Review' Grading Her Performance in a Two-Page Report | 22 Words

A husband has sparked controversy after writing an "annual review" for his wife and grading her performance in a 2-page report.

Do you think this is acceptable? Or do you think it is degrading and immature? Read on to see what he had to say...

As anyone who's married can agree...

Keeping a marriage alive is hard work.

Being married to someone is more than simply just living with them...

Because it requires a lot of commitment and compromises to make a marriage work.

Of course, being married to your soul-mate is magical...

But every marriage comes with its ups and downs.

Communication is key...

But there is a line that must never be crossed when giving "feedback" to your other half... as one husband learned recently!

Husband Chris Stares, who is from the U.K, has been with his wife, Sophie, for eighteen years now.

The pair also share 5 children together, so it's safe to say they've stood the test of time!

Chris recently took Sophie out on a makeshift "Christmas party" to their local pub...

And he decided to present his wife of fourteen years with a 2-page document he had written up, grading her "performance as a wife" over the last few years.

The report included grades for eighteen aspects of their home life - including her "bedroom performance"...

And predictably, it triggered a very mixed reaction online when it was shared on social media.

Chris rated each aspect on a scale from "excellent" to "needs improvement"...

And, as per the Daily Mirror, the aspects that scored an "excellent" included "punctuality and attendance," "job knowledge," "standard of meals," "family entertainment," "availability," and "dependability."

Sophie scored a "good-fair" on aspects such as:

"Attitude and respectfulness," "enthusiasm," "work quality," "evening entertainment," "housewife duties," and "technical skills."

And as for the things that Sophie "needs improvement" on?

Well, according to Chris, aspects such as "accepting criticism," "conflict resolution," and "inventory of household groceries and goods" all need some improvement!

Part of the review then read:

"Despite a difficult year, Sophie Stares has managed to maintain a strong work ethic and succeeded in keeping the house and family ticking over very well. There have been times where her conflict resolution and co-operation have lapsed but this has often been accepted by senior management as understandable given the unusual circumstances we have found ourselves in during 2020."

"We will be looking for a new approach from Sophie Stares to this as the world returns to normal in 2021."

"Inventory lapses meant an unnecessary increase in baked bean expenditure that had to be absorbed during the last quarter of the year, causing a slight financial reshuffle to accommodate this oversight, but one that was easily managed. However, it has been noted that we are in danger of becoming the world’s leading stockpiler of rice. Sophie continues to develop and improve her strengths with an excellent return in both washing and ironing in 2020."

Chris ended his review with:

"As her direct line manager, I recognize that there are areas where we can develop but overall I have nothing but positive things to say about Sophie’s year to date."

While it was clearly a joke between the husband and wife...

People certainly haven't taken it that way! Do you think the report was necessary? Or do you think it was insulting and degrading to his wife?
