Walking to the Fox News headquarters in Manhattan became extremely exciting for Fox News staff and others around the square.
And it was all because a fifty foot tall Christmas tree was stood right outside the Fox News headquarters.
The tree was lit with 100,000 lights and 10,000 Christmas decorations. It was some Christmas tree, making it look a lot like Christmas.
Yep, you read that right. It was a stunning decoration for all to enjoy after the tree was ceremonially lit on Sunday…Until it set fire on Wednesday.
And someone has since been arrested in connection to the tree going up in flames.
According to The New York Times, Detective Adam Navarro has announced that a forty-nine-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fire.
But, there have been no dots connected to the cause of the fire so far.
It took place at about 12.15 am, and while it thankfully didn’t cause any injuries, the incident shocked a lot of people, who had been delighted by the display on-route to work.
Because who doesn’t beam with happiness at the sight of a beautifully lit Christmas tree, right? We know we do.
In fact, Steve Doocey, a Fox News Host even said that he loved the tree before it went up into flames.
“When we walk in at 3 and 4 o’clock in the morning, weekdays, to go to work, the music is so orchestral and so dramatic and so big, it just puts you in the Christmas spirit,” he said.
The news was announced by none other than producer Sean Langille.
And it was so sad to see.
Because it was absolutely beautiful before the suspected arson took palce.
And now, there’s nothing but a charred outline of what used to be a very merry tree.
And while some people on social media are sharing their frustration with the event, saying: “Pray for protection from evil on this holy day.”
Other people made light of what happened.
Shannon Bream, a host at Fox News, also told those watching what had happened, keeping them updated with not-so-merry footage.
“It appears that our giant Christmas tree there just a couple of minutes ago was completely engulfed in flames,” she explained while saying crews were trying to get the smoke under control.
“It looks like folks are safe and sound for now,” she finished after saying she’ll keep everyone updated.
And so she did exactly that…
Telling viewers that nobody got hurt, and the fire had been safely extinguished, but there was still no clue as to what actually happened to the tree.
“The fire appears to be out for now,” she reported.
“No word of any injuries there, we saw the crews there bravely fighting through this,” she carried on.
“We’re going to monitor this situation to see what sparked this whole thing, but for now it looks like everybody is safe and sound, the fire is out,” she finished.
And although it’s dampened many a Christmas spirit…
We’re certainly glad that nobody got hurt.
It’s just a shame that the news outlets tradition that started in 2019 has been tarnished on just the 3rd ceremony.
It is definitely a shame that the tree is no longer lit in the Fox News headquarters.
Hopefully next year, though.
