When instinct kicks in, you’ll do anything for those you love.

Just like one man who saved his puppy from an alligator using his bare hands…

There’s no denying that alligators are one of the most terrifying animals on our planet.

The mere fact that they have been around since dinosaurs roamed the planet is scary enough!

They have been around for a very long time…

It has been predicted by experts that the American alligator is around 150 million years old – meaning they managed to avoid extinction 65 million years ago when their prehistoric contemporaries, the dinosaurs, died off.

Alligators can grow to be around twenty-feet long and can weigh up to 1,000 pounds… and don’t even get us started on their diet.

But more than often, alligators will eat anything they can get their jaws around… including humans.

The rate of fatal alligator attacks is steadily on the rise. According to the Tampa Bay Times, scientists have said that gator attacks have been on the rise in Florida in particular.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, there have been twenty-four fatal alligator attacks here in the States since 1973.

Not just for us humans, but also for our pets.

Or the ability to protect themselves… especially small animals such as puppies and kittens.

This lack of ability makes creatures like alligators a huge risk to them…

And means if they get into any difficulty, there probably going to need a helping hand.

After he found himself in the jaws of an alligator.

An alligator in a pond grabbed hold of a Cavalier King Charles spaniel puppy and dragged him underwater.

Fortunately, the incident was spotted and one heroic man rushed to help.

This crazy moment was caught on camera and later shared on TikTok.

With the alligator still attached to the puppy, he begins to start pulling it off with his bare hands.

And eventually, he manages to pull the alligator’s jaws apart and the tiny puppy runs free. Might I mention, by the way, that the man had a cigar in his mouth throughout the entire ordeal?!

The woman who posted the TikTok gave an update in the comments, writing: “Update. Man and pup are good. Richard and gunner are doing good.”

Whilst another said, “You’re a freaking hero. And I’m sobbing”.

Amazing isn’t it!
