A man has taken to the infamous Reddit platform to talk about an ongoing argument with his neighbours. They have a problem with his Christmas spirit, and want him to take his Christmas lights down.

But the holly jolly man refuses to take them down.

Now, the area that man lives in is managed by a housing association that tells you when you can put your Christmas lights up, but his property isn’t actually managed by the association.

And so, he decided on his terms, when he was going to become Buddy the Elf.

But, as always, people had something to say about his Christmas spirit arriving early this year, and decided to pay him a visit.

We mean, come on… Just let the poor man have his Christmas, right?

But, nope, they weren’t going to do that, or at least, they tried to take it away from him, anyway.

And honestly, his neighbour sounds like the big green grinch that stole Christmas.

“I’m not a member in anyway and that has been verified by a real estate attorney,” he began in his Reddit explanation.

“So anyway apparently they have a rule over how many lights you can put up and what the earliest date you can put them up.

“The woman who I deal with the most when I upset them came by on 11/30 and told me my lights were against the policy and that I was not allowed to have as many lights up as I do,” he wrote.

And so, he told the rather dissatisfied Grinch that he wasn’t a part of the association whatsoever, and does not have to take them down, nor will he be making any effort to do so.

Continuing on, he wrote: “I also told her that I didn’t care about their rules that the lights could only be on during certain hours and that once done putting them up on the 30th I would likely turn them on and leave them on till Christmas.”

Oh but there’s more…

Upon her disregarding what he said, she gave him a flyer that held their rules for lights within the contents, and he threw it in the trash.

Ain’t nobody stopping his Christmas this year.

“I tossed it in the trash and told her to just get off my property. I probably could’ve entertained some of what she asked but I’ve just had enough of them,” he finished.

We get some people just don’t like Christmas, but let’s leave those who do to have their fun, especially this year.

People took the the Reddit post and shared their support for the man, too.

“NTA! I’m so tired of unhappy people trying to ruin Christmas for others. Go, Griswold, my dude… advertise it… I guarantee you will bring way more cheer and happiness than you will upset people. Your neighbour’s kids probably love the lights too!” 1 person wrote.

“OP you need to add the Grinch wearing a shirt that says “HOA” on it,” another person hilariously added.

And finally: “Go petty, buy every lawn ornament possible and put every light on the house. Go beyond Griswold. Screw the HOA. They are not the boss of you,” said another.

What do you think?
