Third-Grade Math Problem Is Really Stumping the Internet | 22 Words

If there's one thing that everyone can agree on, it's that math is most certainly not for the faint-hearted. However, there are some geniuses out there who really push the boat out in the world of mathematics and have used the subject for incredible things such as sending man to the moon.

But even the most genius of all the geniuses are struggling with this one math equation, and it has puzzled the entire internet.

Can you crack the code?

Let's be real, math isn't everyone's favorite subject...

But for some people, math is an utter dream.

Who could forget Pythagoras Theorem?

Well, we know for a fact that we can't remember all of it.

But for those mathematical geniuses out there...

Math has always been a lovely walk in the park, and trust me when I say this, these people are incredibly smart.

Believe it or not, math is one of the most popular subjects to study in the world.

People worldwide choose to study mathematics further when leaving school and pursue degrees and further qualifications such as PhDs in the subject.

A mathematics degree must contain some pretty gristly stuff...

It hurts our heads to just think about it!

But as the famous mathemetician, John Von Neumann, once said...

"If people do not believe that mathematics is simple, it is only because they do not realize how complicated life is."

Life must be pretty simple then!

Well, for people with ordinary brain sizes, that is.

Even the smartest of folk sometimes struggle with math...

And a recent math problem has truly taken the internet by storm, as nobody can seem to work it out.

Turns out, math really isn't that simple...

The latest puzzle is all about counting marbles.

Easy enough, right?

Wrong!

The internet has gone crazy over figuring out the problem, and some people have gone to some pretty tricky lengths to prove that their answer is right.

These people are taking this very seriously...

For what seems like a simple counting task, it has got the internet heated.

Because what looks simple at first...

Is actually anything but.

So, how do we figure it out?

Well people have had some pretty innovative ideas.

Here's the question that got everybody talking.

Reddit

You can see why the puzzle is so dang annoying!

One mom shared it on Reddit "mainly for amusement."

"If someone can answer this correctly, my child will be done with her homework!"

There's only one answer that's unequivocally correct...

But many say it's beyond a 3rd grade level.

<15 is correct.

But others had some funny suggestions.

"The correct answer is 'some,'" wrote one.

"Janell lost her marbles," joked another.

Our heads hurt!

Did you get this one right?
