Matthew McConaughey turned 54 this week!
Now, Matthew McConaughey is best known for being one of Hollywood’s most loved actors…
And he has graced our screens since the 1990s.
He’s made quite a name for himself over the years.
He has starred and co-starred in movies such as How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days (2003), Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009), Magic Mike (2012), Dallas Buyers Club (2013), and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) which have all demonstrated how he is such a versatile actor.
But alongside his talents on-screen…
McConaughey is also known for being a generous and compassionate person.
For example…
During the pandemic, the actor decided to give a little back to the quarantined residents at The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living facility in his home-town of Texas.
And he wasn’t finished there!
McConaughey and his wife, Camilla, worked closely with Bethenny Frankel’s disaster relief initiative BStrong to ensure first responders across the United States were getting masks and supplies they needed at the height of the pandemic.
They donated 80,000 face masks to organizations in between Austin and New Orleans…
As well as 110,000 masks to rural hospitals in Texas.
Simply amazing.
An interview has touched the hearts of the world …
With one revelation, in particular, shaking the internet.
McConaughey opened up about being blackmailed into having s*x aged just fifteen.
“I’m not gonna be afraid of relationships because my first experience was blackmail,” he told Amanda de Cadanet on her About Men podcast.
“Uh-uh. That’s an aberration.
“And I’m not gonna let it beat me … I’m not gonna let that beat my sense of trust in people and say, ’No, I can have a healthy relationship.’ Non-negotiable. No,” he continued.
“I was very clear, again, that was not right, that was not cool, that was not the way it is.
“After that, I got to have some healthy sexual relations and have girls that I liked and liked me, and we slowly got intimate and it was beautiful and clumsy, and all those things, but it wasn’t ugly like that was,” McConaughey explained.
He was then asked how he’d coped with the trauma.
“I don’t have a rocket science answer. It wasn’t an option. I love life too much and believe in life, believe in people. I still go trust-first. I have my spider senses and my sirens.
“Am I gonna carry that?
“I chose, non-negotiably, I’m not going to carry that, bring that baggage into the life I’m going to lead, and how I treat people and how I trust people, and how I look at circumstances and the risk I may take,” he said.
McConaughey spoke about the importance of consent, too.
A lesson he’d learned from his father.
“He said, ‘Son, as a male in the situation,’ – speaking to me about a heterosexual relationship – ‘if you ever feel the girl, the female, hesitate, stop.’
“You may even feel them hesitate, and then after you stop, they may go, ‘oh, no, come on’. Don’t. Wait till next time.
“He said, ‘Trust you’ll have another day, if it is to be,'” McConaughey said.
People were absolutely loving the actor’s honesty.
McConaughey has also opened up in a different way…

He shared the pic in honor of National Pickle Day…
The photo shows McConaughey holding a jar of pickles in front of an open fridge.
He simply captioned the post: “pickled #nationalpickleday.”

But then, another story had the internet shook.
Proof that Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson may be biological brothers surfaced!
Matthew spoke with Kelly Ripa on her Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast about the theory.
“My kids call him Uncle Woody. His kids call me Uncle Matthew. And you see pictures of us and my family thinks a lot of pictures of him are me. His family thinks a lot of pictures of me are him,” he said.
“In Greece a few years ago, we’re sitting around talking about how close we are and our families and my mom is there, and she says, ‘Woody, I knew your dad.’ Everyone was aware of the ellipses that my mom left after ‘knew.’ It was a loaded K-N-E-W.”
“We went on to unpack what this ‘knew’ meant and did some math and found out that [Woody’s] dad was on furlough at the same time that my mom and dad were in their second divorce…”
“Then there’s possible receipts and places out in West Texas where there might have been a gathering, or a meeting, or a ‘kneeeew’ moment.”
So what does it all mean?
“Have you done any of these DNA tests?” Kelly asked.
“This is what we’re on the precipice of now,” he replied.
“Look, it’s a little easier for Wood to say, ‘Come on, let’s do [the DNA tests],’ because what’s the skin in it for him? It’s a little harder for me because he’s asking me to take a chance to go, ‘Wait a minute, you’re trying to tell me my dad may not be my dad after 53 years of believing that?’ I got a little more skin in the game.”
Harrelson has also shared his views on the topic …
“Well, I’ll just say there is some veracity to that thought,” Harrelson said to Stephen Colbert.
“Because we talked to Ma Mac, Matthew’s legitimate mother, and she let us know one time — it’s crazy, we were in Greece. We were watching the U.S. team win the World Cup, and I don’t know, I mentioned something about regrets. And I said, ‘You know, it’s odd that my father has no regrets.’ And I’ve known Ma Mac a long time, and she goes, ‘I … knew … your father.'”
“It was the ellipses I found a little troubling or interesting,” Harrelson explained. “‘I knew your father.'”
“The year of his birth, nine months before, she was on a sabbatical from her relationship with his supposed father Jim.”
“The thing is we want to go and test. But for him, it’s a much more big deal. I mean, he feels like he’s losing a father. But I’m like, ‘No you’re gaining a different father and a brother.'”
And it seems we may be getting a conclusive answer …
Maury Povich told E! News: “I just heard about the possibilities!”
“I mean Matthew, I don’t know you; Woody, you’re my pal… But guess what: I would come out of retirement – we could do prime time – DNA, Maury’s back, with Woody and Matthew.”
He added: “Woody’s got my number – I’m ready.”
But this week, McConaughey turned 54!
And his son, Levi shared the best birthday tribute.
“People know Matthew McConaughey as an Actor and now a writer, but I know him as my father,” he wrote.
“The man who always makes time for us no matter what, the man who’s always there for us no matter what, and the man [who] taught me to appreciate the journey and not just the destination.”
The journeys just getting started… Happy birthday Papai,” he added.
