Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have donated a generous amount to help workers who have fallen on hard times since the pandemic…

Now, Harry and Meghan might have generated a lot of controversy over the last few years…

But it looks like they’re putting their newfound freedom to good use, starting out by helping communities in need.

The couple was pictured enjoying chicken and waffles at a restaurant in Harlem on Friday after paying a visit to a school close by.

The restaurant, called Melba’s, later posted a message on social media thanking the royal pair for taking the time to visit and try their food, later revealing that Harry and Meghan also pledged to donate $25,000 to their COVID relief fund.

The fund was set up by Melba Wilson, the owner of the restaurant, to help all the workers affected financially by the pandemic since 2020.

But the news that Harry and Meghan would commit to helping her efforts to bring financial stability to her workers was a shock to everyone, especially Wilson.

“It was such an honor to officially welcome Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Melba’s,” Wilson said in the post

“I am so thankful for their commitment to donate $25K and hope to welcome them back soon. Thank you for dining with us!”

According to The Daily Mail, the pair didn’t just chow down on chicken and waffles, they also tried a selection of bestsellers from Melba’s menu…

They reportedly ordered spring rolls, catfish, yams, and collard greens… Now that’s a feast fit for a prince!
