People have been commending the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, for the touching way they marked Mother's Day over the weekend.

Their generous move comes just days after the announcement of Meghan's debut children book.

The Bench, set to launch on June 8th, explores the "special bond between father and son [...] seen through a mother's eyes."

The forty-page story is said to be inspired by a poem Meghan herself had written for Harry for his first Father's Day.

It also features a diverse group of characters, reflecting the modern families of 2021.

According to the official press release, the book "captures the evolving and expanding relationship between fathers and sons..."

As well as "reminding us of the many ways that love can take shape and be expressed in a modern family."

But, to mark Mother's Day, Meghan decided to do something a little more hands-on.

Along with her husband, the former actress made a generous donation to a charity close to her heart.

People have since been applauding their thoughtful gesture...

With their Archewell Foundation, the pair donated diapers, cleaning supplies, and other essential items to LA-based charity, Harvest Home.

The organization, which helps homeless pregnant women and their children by providing housing, support, and parenting programs, revealed the news on their Instagram account over the weekend, thanking Archewell and Procter & Gamble, and sharing a personal letter from Meghan.

They began by writing:

"Today, we are thrilled to have the support of Archewell Foundation, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and Procter & Gamble, who are donating diapers, cleaning supplies, and other essential items to ensure that the moms and babies at Harvest Home are celebrated all throughout the year."

The organization then shared the personal words written by Meghan herself.

"As a mom, and an expectant mom, I deeply appreciate the significance of community support, safe and accessible pregnancy resources, and trusted guidance in a nurturing setting."

"These ingredients are essential to not just our physical health, but our mental well-being, and I commend you for leading a compassionate community that lives these values."

"Thank you for all you do for the women and mothers who are turned away elsewhere, at no fault of their own."

"When we consider how vulnerable any mother feels during the fragile time of pregnancy, we gain perspective about how especially difficult it can be for pregnant women of color and those who come from under-resourced and vulnerable communities."

"I hope you will accept an offer of support to help further uplift Harvest Home's residents."
