Meghan Markle is set to make history by being the first royal in history to ever vote in a major election such as the 2020 presidential elections.

But now the reason why she's allowed to has also been revealed...

Politics are an important part of people's lives... even celebrities.

And we all know how irritated people can get when they try and give their political opinions, especially those who are constantly subjected to hate and negativity.

Meghan Markle is most definitely one of those people...

And she has been receiving a lot of anger recently after she spoke out about voting in the U.S. presidential election.

But it turns out...

That Meghan herself is actually shocked over people's anger toward her "wading into politics."

But regardless of the trolls, she is doing what she thinks is best...

And her decision means that she will be the first-ever, modern British royal to have ever voted in a major, national election. And now the reason behind why she's allowed to do this has also been revealed...

Now, it's been a difficult 4 years for Meghan Markle...

When the former actress started dating Prince Harry, her career as an actress seemed to be instantly swapped for a life fulfilling royal duties.

And there was no denying how happy they looked together.

After a year of dating, Harry and Meghan announced their engagement...

Much to the delight of their fan-base worldwide!

They married in May, 2018...

Which made Meghan an official part of the royal family. She relocated to London and was given the title, the Duchess of Sussex.

The couple announced their pregnancy shortly after the wedding...

And Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born in May of 2019.

Even though the little family seemed to radiate with happiness...

Things were far from the case behind the scenes as Meghan was relentlessly attacked by the British press and public.

Anything she did or said...

The British media had something to say about it. Whether she was being branded as a diva, a control-freak, a "monarchy ruiner," and even a bad mother, Meghan received it all.

Even though Meghan bravely put a smile on her face throughout it all...

There's absolutely no doubt that she was struggling.

Meghan and Harry made the bold decision to step down from royal duties earlier this year.

In a joint statement, the couple said that they wanted "a normal upbringing for their child" and they feel that spending their time between the U.K. and America would be much more appropriate for their family environment.

This came as a huge shock worldwide...

But nobody was more shocked than those in the royal family.

Apparently, the Queen wasn't notified of Harry and Meghan's plans to step down from the family until after their announcement on social media.

Her Majesty published a statement shortly afterward, which read: "Discussions with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through."

Harry's relationship with his brother William also came under strain following his departure.

The future King of England was reported to have distanced himself from Harry and Meghan and the pair didn't speak for months.

Even though the family is now spending a lot of their time in Los Angeles...

Meghan is still receiving a lot of heat from the British press for "breaking up the royal family." And my goodness, we wonder why...

It's no coincidence that Meghan is the first-ever person of color to join the royal family...

And no other royal has ever received the volume of hate in which Meghan has - not even Prince Andrew, who was accused of being involved in the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking scandal.

This is modern-day racism...

And it's not okay.

But regardless of the turmoil that Meghan has endured for the last few years...

It seems that her fan base is actually bigger than many of us anticipated.

Her future looks very bright for her and her family...

And recent reports suggest she's got her heart, mind, and eyes set on an even bigger prize.

The world is most certainly her oyster...

Because according to numerous reports, Markle has serious ambitions to run for president in the future.

An apparent friend of Meghan's opened up to the press.

The unidentified friend of Markle's explained that it's one of the reasons she was reluctant to get rid of her U.S. citizenship.

The friend explained:

"One of the reasons she was so keen not to give up her American citizenship was so she had the option to go into politics. I think if Meghan and Harry ever gave up their titles she would seriously consider running for president."

She might even run in 2024, according to that friend.

People are now calling her the "living embodiment of the American dream" and we must say, it's hard to disagree.

And with the upcoming elections looming right above us, Meghan is also set to make history.

She will become the first British royal figure to have ever voted in a major national election by casting her vote for the 2020 presidential elections, multiple media outlets have reported.

A source also revealed to Newsweek, that "the Duchess is voting."

They also added this: "I'm not going to get into methods or timing, but can confirm that the Duchess is voting in this election."

How is this possible?

Well, the Duchess is still considered an American citizen, so will have the right to exercise her vote, just like any other American.

The news comes after Meghan and Harry recently encouraged others to also have their say.

During #NationalVoterRegistrationDay, the royals joined #Time100 alumni in taking action for the future, stressing that voting can change everything.

She said this at the time the video was recorded:

"We're just six weeks out from Election Day, and today is National Voter Registration Day. Every four years, we are told the same thing, that 'This is the most important election of our lifetime.' But this one is. When we vote, our values are put into action and our voices are heard. Your voice is a reminder that you matter. Because you do. And you deserve to be heard."

However, Meghan has had a lot of backlash for her political aspirations...

With many criticizing her for telling U.S. citizens to go out and vote this election as royals are known for being "politically neutral." Her husband, Harry, has never been able to vote in the United Kingdom, but even he encouraged others to use their right.

It turns out that Meghan herself is shocked at the backlash.

"She thought she was saying something relatively uncontroversial, which is people should get involved and vote," a source said.

"She has to be constantly careful about what she says and stick to what she thinks will not be controversial."

"Even telling people to get involved in the democratic process should not be a controversial subject." That's why she will be exercising her right to vote today. Go out and do the same! For more royal controversy, scroll on...
