 “This award is amazing,” she began in her speech. “But I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular.”
The “Flowers” singer went on to thank everyone who helped make the hit song happen, including her mom, her sister, her “love” and her “main gays.”
She also made sure to emphasize that if anyone was left out of her speech, it was on purpose.
“Anyone else? … I don’t think I forgot anyone,” she concluded in her speech. “But I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!”
But, fans of the singer immediately noticed one important person she did “forget”: Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
“Did y’all catch the shade Miley threw at her dad during her award speech?,” one person asked on X, which was echoed by many others.
While it’s not exactly clear if this was a purposeful snub, Miley made it pretty clear that she didn’t leave anyone out of her speech.
Family Drama
This comes amid rumors of a family feud following Billy Ray and Cyrus’ mom, Tish, announcing their divorce in April 2022 after nearly 30 years of marriage.
Tish has since gone on to marry Prison Break star Dominic Purcell, which seems to have caused a split in the family.
Fans noticed that only Miley–along with Tish’s two children from a previous relationship–were at the wedding, despite Billy Ray and Tish also being parents to Cyrus’ sister, Noah, and brother, Braison.
Tish and her other daughter, Brandi, were apparently the only members of the family in attendance at the Grammys as Cyrus won her first award–so it seems like the divorce has really taken a toll on the whole family.
