Starting out in drama workshops up and down the country, the English actress was scouted by a Hollywood talent agent who told her parents she could “mix it with the best kids in Hollywood.”
Millie and her parents then moved to Florida, where she enrolled in stage school.
She made appearances in well-known TV programs including, Modern Family and Grey’s Anatomy.
And in 2016, she landed her life-changing role in Stranger Things.
Starring as Eleven, a telekinetic prisoner who becomes obsessed with a snack called Eggo, the teen has undoubtedly found the most global success from the show.
It’s here that Millie found her footing in the industry.
And young Millie’s role as Eleven has well and truly rocketed her to stardom.
But it hasn’t always been easy, being thrust into the spotlight so young…
The problem with becoming “famous” is that you have to give up privacy. You’re forced to watch your life unfold in a way that you could never imagine, with false news being spread about yourself as well as the people around you.
Unwanted media attention is difficult for anybody, let alone a young girl…
The media scrutinizes anyone they can, spreading lies or false rumors, about even young children, just to sell a story. It’s the worst aspect of becoming a celebrity and Millie has obviously become a victim of the press.

Or, as some people claimed, her relationships. Millie was repeatedly seen hanging out with men much older than her which left fans unsettled.

Drake was slammed for hanging out with the teenager on many occasions. Obviously, some think it was completely innocent but one of his “supposed” girlfriends was an eighteen-year-old model, who Drake first came into contact with when she was only sixteen and he was twenty-nine. Yikes.
She’s also faced criticism for her clothing choices…
There’s no denying that Millie doesn’t dress like a normal teenager because let’s face it, what sixteen-year-old wears Gucci heels with a custom Louis Vuitton gown?

She opened up about the pressures she faced in an Instagram post back when she was sixteen, saying: “The last few years haven’t been easy, I’ll admit that.
“There are moments I get frustrated from the inaccuracy, inappropriate comments, sexualization, and unnecessary insults that ultimately have resulted in pain and insecurity for me.”
Over the last few years, Millie has taken on a whole new look and more mature personality…
According to recent reports, she claimed she wanted to show everyone “what it’s like being a woman of her age.”
“I would really enjoy wearing more fitted clothes now,” she said.
“I feel like I’m becoming someone and being a woman so I just want to show that. I think about the girls who are going to look at the picture, those young girls that are going to look at me, and if they think, ‘Wow that’s what I should dress up as.'”
But despite being in the spotlight, there are some things about her most wouldn’t know…
One being that Millie is actually deaf in one ear!
She told she told W magazine in 2017: “I wanted to be a singer when I was three.”
Explaining that she “just started to, like, train myself.”
I think we can all remember when she impressed us by rapping Nicki Minaj’s section in Kanye West’s Monster on Jimmy Fallon in 2016.
It’s clear she has quite the vocal range, so the fact she was “born with partial loss of hearing” and is now deaf in one ear is pretty crazy!
And it’s definitely not held her back.
“I just started to sing,” she told Variety, “and if I sound bad I don’t care, because I’m just doing what I love.”
She added: “You don’t have to be good at singing,” she said. “If you like to do it if you genuinely enjoy doing it, then do it. No one should stop you.”
That’s some wise words, don’t you think?
If you didn’t already know, Millie played the leading role of Enola in the 2020 movie Enola Holmes.
The actress took on the role of Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister in the film series…
Critics labeled the film as a success and it received “positive reviews,” the Daily Mail reports.
But all eyes were on something else…
As Millie hasn’t shied away from speaking about a sequel in the past…
Expressing how her character is “strong and fearless.”
“I can’t wait to collaborate again with my Enola Holmes family!” she said.
“Enola holds a special place in my heart – she’s strong, fearless, intelligent, and brave. I look forward to fans seeing how her journey continues!” she said.
And now Netflix has confirmed that there would be a sequel of the film to be released later this year.
“A sequel is afoot! Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill will return in ENOLA HOLMES 2,” the streaming service announced on Twitter.

With the star reportedly earning “$20,000 per episode” for the first season of Stranger Things.

It was reported, that her salary was “increased to $250,000 per episode” in season 3 of Stranger Things.
According to Variety, Millie is set to receive an even “larger sum of money.”

Millie is set to receive a paycheck of $10 million for her role in Enola Holmes 2.

Millie has openly spoken out about how it feels to be a Hollywood star at a young age.
She has also opened up about being s*xualized as a teenager and after an incident eft her feeling publicly humiliated.
She wrote a message to her fans on her Instagram page back in 2020…

In an interview with Allure Magazine, the star admitted she doesn’t have social media on her phone.
Someone else handles her Instagram and Facebook pages, the only social platforms she hasn’t deleted, and she went to therapy to handle the constant bullying she has faced online.
Now Millie only speaks to her fans via blog posts on the Florence by Mills website that read like diary entries.
The actress said it works because “nobody can comment” on her posts.
“It’s really hard to be hated on when you don’t know who you are yet,” Millie admitted. “So it’s like, ‘What do they hate about me? ‘Cause I don’t know who I am.'”
She also told Allure that she tried doing different things in response to the criticism.
“Then you just start shutting down because you’re like, ‘Who am I meant to be? Who do they need me to be for them?'” she said.
“Then I started to grow more, and my family and friends really helped. It helped to be able to understand that I don’t need to be anything they said that I need to be. I just have to develop within myself. That’s what I did.”
The actress opened up about her past relationship with TikToker Hunter Ecimovic, known as Hunter Echo…
During the interview with Allure, Millie described their alleged relationship as “unhealthy.”
“I felt very vulnerable,” she admitted.
“Also, no one on the [Stranger Things] set knew I was going through this. So it was kind of nice to be able to just deal with that myself and no one else knew. Then it was harder when the whole world knew,” she said.
The now 18-year-old actress said she walked away from Hunter in January 2021…
Ending her relationship with him almost 6 months before his Instagram Live.
“When you get publicly humiliated this way, I felt so out of control and powerless.
“Walking away and knowing that I’m worth everything and this person didn’t take anything from me, it felt very empowering,” she said.
“It felt like my life had finally turned a page and that I actually had ended a chapter that felt so f**king long… It was a year of healing,” she added.
Millie even went on and said she wanted young people to be aware of the wrong decisions she’s made.
“Ultimately, all I wanted to do within my career is help young girls and young people out there know that I, too, go through things. I’m not this perfect person that is selling skin-care products and [who is] in Stranger Things. I absolutely have made wrong decisions,” she said.
At the time Millie didn’t respond to Hunter’s claims, but her team labeled his remarks “irresponsible, offensive, and hateful.”
“Mr. Ecimovic’s remarks on social media are not only dishonest, but also are irresponsible, offensive, and hateful.
“Instead of engaging in a public discourse with him through the press or on social media, we are taking action to ensure that he stops this behavior once and for all,” Millie’s representatives said in a statement to E! News.
Millie, who was just sixteen when she was rumored to be dating Hunter then twenty, never explicitly confirmed they were in a relationship.
But the 2 were spotted embracing and kissing each other in a series of photos that went viral across social media, which had reportedly been taken in 2020.
It wasn’t all love and glory…
As Millie soon faced severe backlash on social media…
Hunter was quick to maintain that he “had nothing to apologize for,” last July during an Instagram live.
And even went on to make crude remarks about his and Millie’s alleged relationship…
Joking that the Stranger Things star had been “in love” with him.
But at the time, Millie had already begun dating her current boyfriend Jake Bongiovi…
And Hunter then made explosive comments that shocked Millie’s fans.
Hunter revealed he “groomed” Millie in response to viewers’ criticism.
But that’s not all…
“Imagine being a grown adult and dating a kid. Groomer,” one person commented.
To which Hunter said: “I know, I groomed her.”
“Everything that I did was completely legal… You guys don’t know anything,” he said addressing the criticism he faced.
“You guys are just following after one person saying one thing, like, everybody hates him so that everyone’s going to hate me,” he said.
“I have nothing to apologize for, so make that clear. I have zero things to apologize for. You guys do not know a single thing at all,” he added.
Hunter also confessed that Millie’s parents had approved of their alleged relationship.
“I was living at Millie’s house for eight months. How the f**k is that a lawsuit? I thought her mom and dad knew about everything,” he said.
Hunter ended up issuing an apology after he was trolled badly.
“The live stream, I am sorry for. I’m not proud of at all how I spoke, it sounded very immature, looked horrible on my family, it looked horrible on me, it looked horrible on my friends,” he said.
And took back his comment in which he said he’d groomed Millie.
“I never groomed her. I never put pressure on her to like me.”
But still, the humiliation was done.
