The 23-year-old had a huge night on Monday, and has made some huge promises for her future.
At the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Smith received the news she had been waiting for.
The Miss Kentucky winner was crowned by 2020 titleholder Asya Branch.
Smith will go on to compete in the Miss Universe pageant on the 12th of December.
During the question and answer portion of her pageant, Smith spoke out about how honesty is her biggest core value.
Smith also opened up about her views on the climate crisis.
“We’ve got to look at it from a macro and also a micro level,” Smith said as per Insider. “So at the macro level, companies need to switch to green energy — I think that’s something we can all agree on. But then, at the micro level, we all know how to reduce, reuse, and recycle, and those are all things we can implement in our daily life.”
Smith is a relative newcomer to the pageant scene, with only 6 months experience.
Smith also has a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Kentucky, and says working in journalism is “an honor and a role I take very seriously.”
Smith is also a musician, having played piano and sung for over ten years.
Congratulations to the new Miss USA – and we’re wishing her all the best to take the Miss Universe title, too.
