When it comes to parenting, there's no 'one size fits all' method. But Caitlin Fladager, from Vancouver, Canada, has some extremely unconventional methods - which have attracted serious attention online ...

Caitlin Fladager is a mom like no other.

The twenty-seven-year-old is a mom to Adriana and Jack. She gave birth to Adriana aged just 18 with her high school sweetheart.

But on top of this, Fladager is a huge proponent of marijuana use - which is legal both medically and recreationally where she lives.

Fladager claims she wants to "raise awareness" of how marijuana can help with the pressures of parenting.

"I have never been the most patient with my two kids. Weed makes me a better mom, as I get a good night's sleep after I smoke. I wake up well rested, and with a more clear mind."

She also believes weed use has helped her to cut down on her alcohol intake.

Fladager says she never smokes in front of her kids, reserving her smoking for after they've gone to bed.

"People: ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
"you're such a good mom!"⁣⁣
⁣⁣
"I wish I was as patient as you!!"⁣⁣
⁣⁣
"You never lose your cool with your kids!!"⁣⁣
⁣⁣
"What's your secret to being such a patient, kind, mom??"⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Me: ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💚🍃⁣" she jokes.

Fladager takes this same relaxed approach to other areas of her parenting, too.

Allowing her kids to take "mental health day" breaks from school.

"I could tell my six and eight-year-old desperately needed a mental health day. A break from everyday life. A break from me saying 'no!' all the time. So I booked a lake house, emailed their teachers, packed their suitcases, and off we headed for a couple days," she shared on Facebook.

"Tomorrow we will return home, and they will return to school. A lot more refreshed, a lot more calm, and a lot happier. Giving my kids a mental health day, and just giving them a break in general, will become a tradition I hope to carry on for years to come."

Some have spoken out in support of her unconventional parenting style.

"Me personally have nothing against those who use weed. People use weed for multiple reasons. If this is the reason she uses it then... who are we to judge! She can live her life how she pleases. If she's happy that's all that matters. The only thing I don't agree with is smoking it around the children. She chose to smoke weed. Her children didn't," wrote one.

"Not one person would bat an eyelid if this read 'I drink a bottle of wine in front of my kids' Just because something is legal/illegal doesn't make it right/wrong," added another.

While this isn't the most "normal" way of parenting, we have to say, if it works for Fladager then good for her!
