The whole thing is magical, and it truly releases the inner warriors in women after a grueling 9 months of pregnancy.

The labor isn't so magical, however...

The labor of childbirth is known for being one of the most painful things that the human body can experience.
It is the one thing that man women dread. A combination of intense muscle tightening, abdomen cramps, pain in the torso and pelvic area, back pain, contractions from the uterus, and, eventually, pushing a baby out of the vagina... It's certainly no walk in the park.

Labor is different for every woman.

Despite the fact that labor is pretty much guaranteed to be painful, it varies slightly for every woman; no labor is the same.

This can depend on the woman's genetics...

As well as her tolerance to pain, her body type, and even the size of the baby.
But many women find that their bodies can remarkably birth numerous children without any complications... which often results in some very large families!

They must have an incredibly high pain threshold!

But one mom has been defying all of the odds over the years by safely delivering all fifteen of her children... and she now has another one on the way.

Thirty-eight-year-old Patty Hernandez and her husband, Carlos, live with their brood in North Carolina.

Their fifteen children consist of 6 sets of twins, 5 boys, and 10 girls. Feeling confused yet?
And to confuse you even more, all of the children's names begin with C.

Their names begin with a C to honor their father, Carlos.

There's Carlos Jr, twelve, Christopher, eleven, Carla, 9, Caitlyn, 9, Cristian, 8, Celeste, 7, Cristina, 6, Calvin, 5, Catherine, 5, Carol, 4, Caleb, 3, Caroline, 3, Camilla, 2, Charlie, one and Crystal, 4 months.

And now, Patty is pregnant with her sixteenth child.

Speaking in an interview, Patty spoke of how she's always "happy when she's pregnant." "Around 3 months after I have a baby I usually get pregnant again."
Even though having so many children is undoubtedly stressful, Patty loves having a busy household. "It's always crazy in our house, I do laundry at least 4 times a week - right now I have a thousand clothes to wash, that’s at least 5 hours of folding clothes every 2 days."

Her job as a full-time mom is perhaps one of the most demanding jobs ever.

"When the kids play, they often leave toys on the floor so I need to clean that up too."

But Patty makes sure that the older kids pull their weight.

"I try to give them a daily routine to clean up after themselves. They have their own chores. The older one makes his own pancakes sometimes, but most of the time I am the one doing the cooking."
But what about finances? Having 1 child alone here in the United States is expensive enough, never mind sixteen!

It turns out that Patty and Carlos spend a whopping $495 a week on groceries and nappies...

And ahead of the new arrival, they are currently shopping for a new vehicle as they have outgrown their sixteen-seater bus. Wow.

The family always manages to make ends meet, however...

And they're eagerly awaiting the arrival of their newborn in the next few months.
But how will they manage with fifteen other children? "It is a bit more stressful and difficult with a newborn," Patty said, "The babies are always crying and I have to take care of them. But it is a blessing, we enjoy it."

As long as they're happy, that's all that matters!

"People ask me all the time, ‘are they all yours?'. Everybody’s amazed when they find out how many kids I have, especially because I’m such a petite person."
