The topic of gun control has long been a controversial issue but, now, one Santa may have overstepped the mark when he refused a gift based on his beliefs...
A video has gone viral on Facebook this week...Because it shows a Santa behaving in a way that many have found to be totally inappropriate.
The Santa was working at the Harlem Irving Plaza in the Chicago suburb, Norridge. But when a child asked for a rather controversial gift, Santa had rather unfestive things to say. Keep scrolling to watch the video for yourself...
Now, as you will all be aware, gun violence is a real issue here in the States.

Our country has been ravaged by horrific mass shootings for decades...And why is that? Well, some people fee "the right to bear arms" is more important than the right to live safely in their community.
We even have a "Mass Shooting Tracker."
via: GettyThe Mass Shooting Tracker is a crowd-sourced database of U.S. mass shootings, with the website defining a “mass shooting" as a single outburst of violence in which 4 or more people are shot.
It's time for our government to wake up.

Despite these terrifying statistics, however, so many Americans still believe the right to bear arms is more important than the right to live...

Every day, more and more people are standing up against the casual use of guns in our country.
via: GettyOver the last few years, thousands upon thousands of people have taken to the streets to protest the violence and death caused by firearms.
But the gun control issue is rather more complex than simply banning firearms...
via: GettyAnd this brings us back to this story today.
In a video shared on Facebook by Susan Parker, her son, Michael, was seen asking Santa for a Nerf Gun...But Santa bluntly replied, "No guns."
The child becomes visibly upset by this, so Susan steps in to clarify that he is requesting just a Nerf Gun...Not a real gun. But Santa isn't having any of it, replying with, "Nope, not even a Nerf gun. If your dad wants to get it for you that’s fine, but I can’t bring it to you."
This refusal leaves the boy in floods of tears. So, for a little bit of damage control, Santa prompts: "What else would you like? Lots of other toys. Legos. There are bicycles. There are cars and trucks. What do you think?"
You can watch the video below.
Susan has since confirmed that the shopping center responded quickly and "with kindness", and have organized a special Christmas surprise for Michael. For more Santa controversy, scroll on for the horrific note one neighbor left after spotting a Black Santa decoration...
