As Christmas fast approaches, it seems as if every company out there is trying to get a piece of the action. Holiday shopping is well and truly underway - from limited-edition food and drink, to the much-anticipated Starbucks holiday collection - even hotel chains are getting in on the action!

But one brand has had a major Christmas shopping misfire this year - Target has released some holiday cookies that many realized weren't the usual Christmas fare.

Curious? Well, scroll on to see for yourselves...

The holiday season is well and truly upon us.

And it's safe to say, we're feeling pretty excited about the fact Christmas is just around the corner.

There's a lot to love about this time of year...

Let's face it, the holiday season offers the best in terms of food, drink, movies, songs, and home decor.

But there's one activity that truly sums the season up...

Shopping, of course!

And on top of gift buying?

Well, brands are keen to make the most of the whole season, and one way to do that is to bring out all manner of limited edition holiday products for your purchasing pleasure.

Sometimes, these products are great!

But other times? Well...

And one company with a product landing firmly in the latter category?

Well, it has to be Target - in terms of Christmas clangers, this one is going to be hard to beat.

As you'd expect, the Target holiday range is huge.

But there's one product which stands out for all the wrong reasons.

And the internet has absolutely noticed...

Offering some horrified (and hilarious) responses to the item.

It sounds innoucuous enough...

Target has released its annual holiday cookies featuring Santa Claus front and center.

But this is a Santa Claus with a difference.

Rather than the usual wholesome figure he cuts, this Santa looks rather... Suspicious.

"My friends pointed out Santa’s boots—which I then couldn’t unsee," one mom wrote.

"I mean, how on Earth were those cookies able get so far down the [production] line?" wrote another.

Target responded:

"We have not received any feedback directly on this item. The design is intended to represent Santa’s boots. We appreciate the feedback and will take it into consideration moving forward." Do you see it? Want more Christmas hilarity? Scroll on for the wishlist that got everybody talking...
