Morgan Wallen won several 2021 Billboard Music Awards yesterday, despite being banned from appearing at the ceremony…

It was a decision that came after a video leaked earlier in the year.

But despite his ban, the internet appears to be very happy with Wallen’s win…

Earlier this year, a video emerged online of Wallen saying racial slurs.

Other expletives could also be heard in the video as Wallen returned from a night out with friends in Nashville.

Following the video, Wallen issued an apology…

In a statement to E! News at the time, he said: “I’m embarrassed and sorry.”

“I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever.”

“I want to sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better.”

But despite his apology, Wallen received huge backlash with Spotify and Apple removing his songs from their curated playlists.

And as a result, he was also banned from appearing at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.

However, despite being banned from appearing at the awards, he wasn’t banned from being nominated.

Finalists of the show are chosen based on things such as their performance on Billboard charts, music sales, streaming platform statistics and radio airplay.

And as many of Wallen’s fans have continued to support him…

He won several 2021 Billboard Music Awards last night.

Wallen won for Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist and Top Country Album.

He is yet to comment on his win.
